Mulayam’s case to be reopened

Posted on 11 January 2015 by admin

Modi’s rhetoric of clean and transparent politics has certainly struck chord with general public in India but Modi’s promise of ‘Acche Din’ has also brought bad news for many regional political heavyweights. After J Jayalalitha, Mayawati, Mamata, Karunanidhi and Lalu, now its Mulayam’s turn to get caught. The recent remark by Justice Dattu, Chief Justice of India in disproportionate assets case involving Mulayam, can give a new twist to the issue. Infact, the then CBI Chief Ranjit Sinha had submitted a closure report in Mulayam’s disproportionate assets case, which was called ‘null and void’ by the CJI. The petitioner of this case Vishwanath Chaturvedi, has now decided to file a review petition, which may mean tough times for Mulayam in the near future.

Black Money in UP?

Posted on 11 January 2015 by admin

The hullabaloo over ‘Black Money’ issue might have gathered enough votes for Modi mandali, but the question remains whether black money deposited in foreign banks will ever return to the country? However, efforts are on to disclose the black money circulating around the country. Special Investigation team is keeping close eye on well-known builders, ministers and bureaucrats. The SIT has already started investigations against many of them and more names are likely to come up. Just about three days back, Income tax raids were conducted at the premises of a renowned builder (builds luxury apartments). It is said that many UP ministers have invested in this building company and the owner of the company is relative of a Congress leader from UP. The SIT has also taken this company’s file into its custody. The next in line is another builder, who grew by leaps and bounds during Mayawati’s regime. Sources reveal that many officials of Noida Development Authority have put in their money in this construction company. The SIT has also found many documents against UP’s Mineral and Mining minister.

‘Malik’ managed

Posted on 11 January 2015 by admin

Twelve seats of Uttar Pradesh’s legislative council will fall vacant on coming January 30, seven of which belong to Samajwadi Party’s quota. Therefore, those who could not make it to Rajya Sabha during Mulayam’s period are eying a MLC seat. Mulayam has already filed 7 names, where seventh name was that of SP’s Jaswant Singh. However, Aashu Malik was also keen on this this seat. Just to remind, Malik had played important role in bringing Mulayam and Ahmad Bukhari together. Currently he is with Arshad Madani, rather he takes full credit for bringing Mulayam and Madani together as well. It has come to light that recently Madani had called up Mulayam and told him that, ‘if his words have no value then what is the need for their association? Mulayam took no time and immediately replaced Jaswant Singh with that of Ashu Malik.

Pink revolution is soaring high

Posted on 03 January 2015 by admin

On one hand, Narendra Modi might appear to be trying hard to get out of the election mode, on the other hand, several of his Cabinet colleagues have made a paper boat out of his election promises; they plan to cross the political seas based on these promises. In his election meetings, Modi had gone to town saying that he will try to dissuade the export of pink meat, if his government comes to power. Therefore, he was also seen talking about making the tax laws stricter. But a few days ago, the numbers that Nirmala Sitharaman, minister for commerce and industry(independent charge), presented on the export of pink meat in the Parliament gave a different pictures. The figures showed that not only has Modi not brought down the export of pink meat, but has also doubled the rate of the same. In financial year 2013-14, while 1389018 metric tonnes of pink meat worth Rs 27163.01 crore was exported, in the first six months of the current financial year 2014-15, 703535 metric tonnes of pink meat worth Rs 13945.34 crore was exported. The numbers are indeed astounding. Contrary to Sangh and other Hindu organisations, some able ministers of the Modi government were seen advocating the cow meat industry openly. They believe that this two lakh crore industry can give the national exchequer no less than Rs 17,000 cr. That means that no business is bad that brings in the money. Just like tobacco and alcohol, the business of pink meat will also continue to flourish, along with statutory warnings.

Gadkari’s love for Qureshis

Posted on 03 January 2015 by admin

Nitin Gadkari, the apple of Sangh head Mohan Bhagwat’s eyes and the loved one of the business industry, is openly talking in support of pink meat business people. A few months ago, Gadkari openly spoke at the meeting of All India Jamaitul Quresh (AIJQ) and said, “I have signed the files approving the demands of the community and I will support them in their business wherever needed.” This able minister of the Modi government, also assured the business people of the meat industry that in order to prevent animal rights activists from disturbing the transfer and killing of animals in abattoirs, he is also ready to make changes in the transport laws. Gadkari also paid stress to the appointment of a mobile magistrate to speedily take care of the matter. It is with mentioning that Gadkari gets along well with the head of Qureshi forum Sirajuddin Qureshi. Sirajuddin Qureshi is also the director of India Islamic Centre at New Delhi’s Lodhi Road and he knows how to keep the political lords happy. On the other hand, several animal rights organisations have told the transport minister to have special cages made for animals as they are being taken to slaughter houses so that no harm comes to them on the way. Usually, these animals are lugged on to the trucks mercilessly, and several would get wounded on the way, many died, and their meats were still sold. On the other hand, all slaughter houses in London have a doctor appointed by the government, and the meat of the animals is considered fit for consumption only after the doctor considers it healthy. Otherwise, animals are put in the “down animal” category. But all this happens without any scruples in India, and you can call it the trend of down moral.

Saiyan bhaye kotwal

There is a powerful minister in Modi’s Cabinet, who was once considered Advani’s Hanuman. A few days ago, he proposed a unique suggestion at a Cabinet meeting. It was that those suffering at the hands of builders can’t make a complaint to the Consumers’ Forum and that a regulatory should be formed for the redressal of these complains. Maneka Gandhi was the first one who opposed this, wondering whether someone from Pilibhit will have to go to Noida or Lucknow with his complain. Then, other ministers such as Ramvilas Paswan, Kalraj Mishra, Radhamohan Singh added their voice to it, saying that the government is giving builders a right to cheat the common man of his money. After sensing so much opposition, the prime minister rejected his dear minister’s proposal, knowing well that this minister has invested heavily with a builder company, which is known for giving birth to new possibilities.

Mukhtar’s beginning

Posted on 03 January 2015 by admin

Every minister of the Modi government is trying to make his boss happy. And because Modi believes in the policy of reward and punishment, his ministers want to present a pro-active image of themselves to the PM, the public and the media. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has taken the big responsibility of making popular a well-known election slogan “Modi Sarkar, Janta ke dwar”. In any case, Modi calls himself the pradhan sewak of the public instead of the prime minister. Concerning this, when Naqvi studied the work of his ministry for the past 15 years, he found that of all the funds allotted and to be spent for the common man, hardly reached them. Thus, in a planned move, he has given a formal face to ‘Mission Empowerment (Sashaktikaran) ’, and he has pointed out 100 such districts with a majority of minorities where more than Rs 200 crore from related departments has been spent until now. Now Mr Minister is personally visiting these districts and holding Janata Durbars in an effort to find out why no change has taken place. Why are there no sounds of change on Ground Zero? How can the 15-point programme that has been decided by the ministry be implemented? Naqvi has initiated the programme from New Year 2015, but the journey to fruition remains.

Shuffle in Modi’s Cabinet

Posted on 03 January 2015 by admin

There is a possibility of a big reshuffle before the Budget session starts in the Parliament. This can take place in the month of January itself. In this process, ministers can be rated based on their work and their work efficiency. Based on their performance, those who are mired in controversy may be asked to leave on the pretext of their age. In the days to come, six to seven governors have to be appointed. These ministers may be appointed as governors and the list of such ministers includes those such as Najma Heptullah.

The Republic Day tableau

Posted on 03 January 2015 by admin

The prime minister himself is taking personal interest in making the Republic Day parade unforgettable and grand in every way possible. The programme this time is extra special because US President Barack Obama will be present at the function as the chief guest. Modi is paying extra attention to the tableau at the programme – what should the subjects of these tableaus be, how their presentation and colour coordination look like and so on. PM is paying extra attention to the finer details. Modi has told his ministers that the responsibility of the tableau should not be just that of the officials, and they should pay personal attention to it and keep reporting to the PMO on this.

Tale of two Sinha’s

Posted on 29 December 2014 by admin

Compared to his predecessor, the new Director of CBI Anil Sinha is considered to be far more honest and has a cleaner image. During Rajiv Gandhi’s reign, he has also been the head of the SPG. Due to this, he has good relations with the Gandhi family as well as the Congress. As an additional secretary of CBI, his work record was pretty good. He had a great relation with former CBI director Ranjit Sinha as well. Both are from Bihar cadre, are Kayastha and maybe that is the reason Anil Sinha let Ranjit Sinha stay for eight months at the bungalow allotted to him as CBI director. And while Anil Sinha has never courted controversy, Ranjit Sinha has always attracted something or the other that is controversial. For instance, he had dismissed the 250-page report on the 2G case in just six lines. Mukul Rohatgi had kicked up a big fuss about it and the matter had to be dealt with by the court. And because the then telecom minister Maran is being named in the report, Maran allegedly took care of the matter by paying off Ranjit Sinha. The information about this was given by Maran to the then TRAI Chairman Nirpendra Mishra. Sources also say that a CD and audio tape related to Ranjit Sinha was doing the rounds in the political corridors. Maybe that is the reason that while Amit Shah had proposed the name of Ranjit Sinha as Lieutenant governor of Delhi, but Arun Jaitley did not agree with this and Shah had to put this matter on the backburner.
