There is a powerful minister in Modi’s Cabinet, who was once considered Advani’s Hanuman. A few days ago, he proposed a unique suggestion at a Cabinet meeting. It was that those suffering at the hands of builders can’t make a complaint to the Consumers’ Forum and that a regulatory should be formed for the redressal of these complains. Maneka Gandhi was the first one who opposed this, wondering whether someone from Pilibhit will have to go to Noida or Lucknow with his complain. Then, other ministers such as Ramvilas Paswan, Kalraj Mishra, Radhamohan Singh added their voice to it, saying that the government is giving builders a right to cheat the common man of his money. After sensing so much opposition, the prime minister rejected his dear minister’s proposal, knowing well that this minister has invested heavily with a builder company, which is known for giving birth to new possibilities.
