Gadkari in a new avatar

Posted on 25 November 2014 by admin

Nitin Gadkari can be seen in a new avatar as a Union minister. It is worth mentioning that when he was a minister in the Sena-BJP government in Maharashtra, he was called Roadkari. The then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee praised him a lot for his work then. Back then, Vajpayee had asked him to work on the Prime Minister’s Road Programme. Nowadays, Gadkari’s sole agenda is to repeat his Maharashtra’s success story. So in his six-day foreign tour, he went to Sweden, the Netherlands, Brussels and Wales in the UK. The aim behind Gadkari’s trip was to find foreign investors for India’s infrastructure sector. In Wales, he met up with top officials on road safety and how to make driving license procedure better and more efficient. Inspired by the Prime Minister’s foreign trips Gadkari kept his tour highly packed, too. The reason for his super-busy schedule was to not only encourage foreign investments in the infrastructure and shipping sectors, but also to look for investments in ports. Among all this activity, he was also seen worrying about how to make his image as the most proactive ministers in the eyes of Modi. This is the reason he met members of the UK India Business Council during his trip to London and the culmination of his trip happened with the dinner that was hosted in his honour by the Indian high commissioner to the European Union.

Jaitley and Defence Ministry

Posted on 25 November 2014 by admin

Arun Jaitley’s was getting fond of defence ministry, and while Manohar Panikkar may be the new defence minister, Jaitley is still in touch with the ministry. Not only are the military police still there for his security, the medical room that the army had made in his Krishna Menon Marg residence still stands. The army nurse and doctors are still looking after it and Jaitley’s faith in these medical people is as strong as ever. After taking over the ministry, the new defence minister has also made it clear that his ministry has no intentions of taking out the medical room from Jaitley’s home. Jaitley liked to use the army plane when he was the defence minister but he is changing that one habit of his.

The country’s President Pranab Mukherjee went to Finland with a delegation of Parliamentarians a few days ago. Pranab da is as fond of reading and writing as he ever was, and he starts making preparations for the countries that he has to tour much in advance. He reads up book on the land’s culture and history and makes important notes of the same. It then manages to remember all these things by heart. When Pranab da went to Finland and Norway on his recent trip, the head of the states – the King and the Queen – were seen listening to his speech so intently that it seemed he was giving a history lecture. The Queen of Norway was so taken with his speech that she exclaimed, “Excellent. Your speech gave me a lot of information about my own country.”

Ambani-Adani’s Friendship

Posted on 25 November 2014 by admin

India’s two top industrialists Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani are writing a new tale of friendship. And the unsaid credit to script the tale goes to none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Until 2014, relations between Ambani and Adani were nowhere close to what can be called warm, and one of the reasons for this is said to be Anil Ambani’s presence in the power sector. But in the recent days, a new relationship seems to be taking seed between the two. The beginning happened when Mukesh and Nita Ambani attended Gautam Adani’s elder son’s wedding in Goa. In return, Adani was especially invited for the inauguration of Reliance Foundation’s H N Hospital by the Prime Minister in Mumbai. Before this, the two had met in the US in September, when Indian High Commissioner to the US Jaishankar had hosted a dinner party in New York’s Pierre Hotel. Adani-Ambani’s common friend, who is also known for his close ties with Sangh, worked towards getting the two industrialists together. It is the same non-resident businessman who recently got Mukesh Ambani to meet Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari at the Ritz Carlton in Washington DC recently. The credit for getting Gautam Adani a loan of Rs 5,000 crore from State Bank of India for his coal mines in Australia goes to Modi, during his recent visit to Australia, he invited SBI’s Chairperson Arundhati Bhattacharya with him because Adani was also accompanying him.

Vasu Vs Modi — The game is on!

Posted on 15 November 2014 by admin

Before the Cabinet expansion at the Centre, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia apparently went to see the Prime Minister in Delhi twice — this was after a message from Amit Shah. But she was told about Modi’s extremely busy schedule and was explained that she would not be able to meet the Prime Minister. Sources reveal that after this, Vasundhara met BJP President Amit Shah, and it is believed that Shah told her during the meeting that she was a big leader in the state and that now her role should be in national politics. Vasu didn’t give a reply to this and returned to Jaipur. It is worth mentioning that before this Shah had sent a list with the names of six Assembly members from Rajasthan through his close aide Bhupendra Yadav. These were the names of those who the Modi-Shah duo wanted included in Vasundhara’s team of ministers. Most of these names were of those who were opposing Vasundhara, those she didn’t like one bit, and with good reason. But respecting the high command’s wishes, Vasundhara made even her arch rival Kiran Maheshwari also a part of her Cabinet. In return, Vasu sent two names for Central ministers — one was Jodhpur’s saffron leader Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and the second was of her son Dushyant Singh. But none of them got a post from Rajasthan quota; the ones who did get a berth in the Cabinet were those who were liked by Modi and Shah. This time before Modi started for his 10-day foreign tour, he gave time to Vasundhara to come meet him and the two politicians exchanged few words. The chill that has taken place between the two is there for all to see. During the conversation, Vasundhara let it slip that Modi should not take her for Raman Singh or Shivraj. Modi merely smiled, and his pursed lips indicated that he was not who talks, he merely does.

Modi upset with Krishnapal

Posted on 15 November 2014 by admin

It is said that Narendra Modi is fairly upset with Krishnapal Gujjar. The group opposing Gujjar claims that because his son did not get a ticket for the Assembly elections from Tigaon in Faridabad, he was upset and worked against prominent party members during the elections. On the other hand, when the party emerged as the single-biggest party, he asked Sushma Swaraj to nominate him for the chief minister’s post. But the party high command did not even care to consider his name. What did happen, however, is that the party got a chance to analyse how much Gujjar had contributed to the party’s win. Upon the analysis, it was found that in his own home constituency of Mevla-Maharajpur, the BJP got a mere 16 votes and the party got a total of 146 votes from the seven villages that have a Gujjar majority. Modi wanted to show him the way out from the Cabinet, but sensing the importance of Gujjar votes in Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, Modi has merely changed his department for now. Gujjar’s fate will be decided after the results of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections are out.

Netaji’s Aparna mantra

Posted on 15 November 2014 by admin

There is strife within the Yadav family due to Mulayam Singh Yadav’s youngest daughter-in-law Aparna Yadav’s raga Modi. The way Mulayam’s younger son Prateek Yadav’s wife Aparna has taken to public platforms and has openly praised Modi and sang paeans has infuriated UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. It is also believed that he has complained about it to his father. Netaji called for Aparna and has tried to make her see sense. Instead, Aparna questioned Netaji why he gave the seat he vacated from Mainpuri to Tej Narayan, instead of Prateek, who has never asked anything from him. It is believed that Netaji has assured Aparna that he is considering Prateek’s political career seriously and will reveal the details when the time is right. It is worth mentioning here that Prateek’s wife Aparna considers her competition to be with Akhilesh’s wife Dimple. Like her, Aparna is also from Uttarakhand, is the daughter of a journalist and she also likes to move around with a large entourage.

Harshvardhan’s happiness gone

Posted on 15 November 2014 by admin

Most are discussing the reasons for Harshvardhan’s departure from the health ministry, saying it was because of his closeness to Sushma Swaraj, or that he may be the party’s face in the coming Delhi elections and so on. But the truth is that he cost him dearly to lock horns with a powerful medical mafia –Dr. Ketan Desai. Dr.Ketan Desai and the Medical Council of India have become synonymous with each other. So when Harshvardhan tried to look at and deal with the growing corruption at the MCI, it was like he had to deal with Desai. Desai gets along with several powerful ministers from the Modi government and his voice reaches the ears of Modi and Shah and maybe Harshvardhan forgot this reality in his excitement. At the same time, India’s powerful tobacco lobby was also hounding him because the minister would often mention a ban on tobacco. So the minute Harshvardhan’s department changed, the very next day stocks of a top cigarette manufacturing company soared.
