The recent elections of BCCI (Board of Cricket Control in India) turned out to be quite interesting. Though under compulsion, Srinivasan group joined hands with Jagmohan Dalmia faction to defeat Sharad Pawar’s chances. Even though BJP openly supported Pawar, in fact Amit Shah and Sharad Pawar had a long discussion on this issue. If Arun Jaitley had not left for US for his wife’s treatment, the elections wouldn’t have taken place and a joint panel would have been worked out. Rajiv Shukla lost his treasurer’s post merely by single vote and till the end no one was aware that Srinivasan tied up with Shivlal Yadav and Baroda and changed the equations. Anurag Thakur’s victory for the post of secretary means a lot for Jaitley’s faction, Jaitley had spoken over phone with Sharad Pawar for Anurag Thakur. Anurag had gone to Pawar’s daughter Supriya Sule as well with his request. Sources tell that Supriya took up Anurag’s case with his father and asked his blessings. Even Amit Shah spoke for Anurag Thakur with Pawar and Anurag ended in a win-win situation. Otherwise also, Sharad Pawar’s position has suffered much in the recent BCCI and Srinivasan is at his crest. Though in helpless, Srinivasan’s friendship with Dalmia has brought new dimensions to the politics of Indian cricket.

It’s an old saying that everything is fair in love and war, however, when a corporate honcho was put in the jail; he could not forego his covetous addictions here as well. Some of the internal sources of the company reveal that the company employees have not received their salaries for past four months and their boss is busy in his merry making in jail. If jail sources can be relied, a website known for its sting operations conducted a sting of his jail room and captured various compromising poses of the said boss. It may not be easy to imagine, but most of the women caught by the boss are from his own office staff and others were paid well in lieu of their job. Now, boss is extremely worried that the sting video should not be out in public and trying to pay any amount asked. Obviously the negotiation market is selling hot.

It seems the budding animosity between government and Sangh now seem to be growing more and more obvious. If Sangh sources can be believed, many of Sangh’s jobs is pending as most of the ministers are trying to avoid doing Sangh’s work except for Human Resources Minister Smriti Irani, who has kept her heart and doors of her ministry open for Sangh members. Sources confirm that on suggestions from some of the ministers, Smriti has started one such programme, which is benefitting all the higher institutes related to Sangh. The minister has started one 500 crore worth, which will be directly utilized by colleges to develop skill Centres in the colleges. Under this programme, 100 colleges from across the country would be chosen and granted Rs 5 crore each for a skill center. It is said that Smriti is choosing most of those colleges whose management has some backing from Sangh. Most of the Sangh run institutes are in the North-East, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh; obviously most of the funding is likely to go in these states.

BJP and Sangh have been holding two different views on benefits of rail budget and general budget. Many of the Sangh members are talking in a low voice that budget was meant for an exclusive set of people, corporate tax has been reduced but service tax has gone up, which will put a burden on common man’s pocket. While, many of the BJP MPs believe that there is nothing so exciting about the budget that they can boast of in front of public. Sources tell that government is planning to help its MP’s by providing them a capsule on proposals of general budget and rail budget; they will be further trained to elaborate on certain proposals in public.

Along with big power Modi is also entrusted with huge responsibility. This was evident at New Delhi’s Ashoka Hotel where Lalu’s daughter got married to Mulayam’s grandson Tej Pratap on February 26. When the news of PM’s arrival came, Nitish and Sharad were sitting with Lalu and Mulayam in VIP enclosure, Lalu and Mulayam went to gate to receive him and brought him where Nitish, Sharad and KC Tyagi were sitting. On seeing Nitish, PM offered a warm handshake and also discussed the proposals of finance commission. Nitish was happy to meet his old friend Arun Jaitley. Jaitley invited him for dinner at his residence. Soon after the function, Nitish left for Jaitley’s residence at Krishna Menon road, where they had dinner together and spent about good two hours in company with each other.

On a request of his daughter Pratibha Advani, BJP’s veteran Lal Krishna Advani celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary with great fanfare. On the occasion, Advani and his wife Kamla exchanged garlands and was like a grand wedding ceremony itself. Political leaders like Rajnath Singh, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Praful Patel to Amar Singh were present on the occasion. Prime Minister Modi did not come in person but his good wishes message came. The blaze of investigation scam in Petroleum ministry is now clearly visible. It may have come as a shock for all those corporate who have been entrapped into it, but Modi government’s wise strategist Ajit Doval had clue about this for quite some time. Doval had information of the scam since his IB days during UPA’s regime. But, people often rub each other’s back to achieve top position in government or corporate. In fact, this game continued right under the nose of various ministries, and government stayed ignorant. But a big win of Arvind Kejriwal in small Delhi has brought nightmares for Modi government. And the kinds of feedback intelligence agencies have given about the reasons for this big debacle confirm that Delhi voters couldn’t digest the friendship between industrialists and Nizam of Delhi. Therefore, at the backdrop of forthcoming Bihar elections, this is also a warning for Modi government that he cannot let corporate do as they wish for the sake of his friendship. Neither Modi government is corporate owned government. Henceforth Modi too would not hesitate to pull back his hands from those moneyed men who publically walked along; after all it’s a matter of his prestige. Investigation scam is just the beginning; it seems some big fishes involved in arbitration between corporate wing and the governments are likely to suffer the wrath of Modi government soon.

Suresh Prabhu does not seem to meet the expectations that Prime Minister had anticipated from him. Otherwise, the way Prabhu was introduced into cabinet as a minister; the political pointers were loud and clear. He was made a member of BJP in the morning and by evening he was sitting in the Rail Bhavan. But recent incidents indicate that Prabhu is no longer among the Modi’s favorites list nor does PM considers him as priced possession. PMO sources reveal that Modi’s angst against Prabhu is for the reason that he has failed to deliver as Railways minister. It is said that before taking over the Rail ministry he had promised that he will bring FDI worth one lakh crores in Railways. But he has failed in doing so. In fact, Railways has got derailed from the reform track it was on since few years. Now, the news is in the air that Prabhu might get replaced out of Rail ministry after the planned reshuffle post budget.

During recent Delhi assembly elections BJP completely washed out in rural areas. It is said that farmers are extremely annoyed with Modi and their anger has spread among farmers of Haryana, UP and Rajasthan as well. During the ongoing introspection of saffron party, it has come to light that anger among farmers are for the reason that they neither received fertilizers not pesticides on time this year and this has happened due to the failures of the Ministry of Fertilizer and Chemicals. In fact Morocco and Turkey are two nations from were India imports Phosphorus and Fertilizers. However, ever since new minister has come, there has been tussle on between suppliers and ministry. The ministry has argued that they are unable to reach a consensus with old suppliers on rates. That’s why ministry is looking for fresh suppliers and that is the cause for delay. It’s believed that Modi took a class of minister in charge, Ananth Kumar on this matter and he is believed to have taken the lesson seriously.
