The PMO has prepared a report card of every minister, who were graded on the scale of 10 for their performance, efficiency and decision making. Modi has made it clear that he will certainly not applaud those who have been rated above 5, but he will certainly take those to task who have been graded below 2. Modi has already begun taking their class and meeting them one-to-one basis. The ministers graded in this category includes Najma Heptulla, Radha Mohan Singh, Sripad Nayak , Smriti Irani and others.

Bringing L C Goyal in place of Anil Goswami as home secretary was significant decision of most powerful man in PMO, Nripendra Mishra. Since the home minister Rajnath Singh was keen on this post for Petroleum secretary and his confidante Saurabh Chandra, who also happens to be Mishra’s preferred, Mishra had already kept a suitable responsibility for him. It seems that if the trio, Nripendra Mishra, PK Mishra and Ajit Doval continue to rule the roost in PMO, there is every possibility that Saurabh Chandra would be next cabinet secretary. The tenure of present cabinet secretary, Ajit Seth has been extended for six months to enable the empanelment of Chandra. All handpicked of Nripendra Mishra are getting their favorite appointments. It is being said that Nripendra Mishra was keen on appointing his crony IPS officer, Prakash Mishra as CBI Director; However, Modi could not overlook the fierce protests from Navin Patnayak. Ultimately, Prakash Mishra had to remain satisfied with the post of IB chief. Be it Ashok Prasad or Anant Kumar Singh, all the powerful officials of PMO today are there with the blessing of Nripendra Mishra.

Despite the gigantic efforts made by Sangh leadership to facilitate the blooming of ‘Lotus’ in Delhi, the party cadres visibly appeared disgruntled. The party workers were neither excited to come out of their homes nor did they make any effort to motivate public to come out and vote, against what was seen in 2014. In fact many went on to sympathize and support Kejriwal openly. Two days before the elections , a gate keeper at Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay Institute in Jhandewalan was seen wearing an AAP cap, there was no one to stop him either.

One fast channel has rapidly changed its loyalty, it has also ousted its false façade of ‘love for Modi’ and its attitude towards government as well. In fact the owner of this media house was waiting for a ‘Padma Vibhushana’ award for himself. When he was denied of top civilian award, he started worrying about the woes of the citizens of Delhi. He went to the extent of grabbing ‘broom’ to wipe out fate of saffron party.

Our Prime Minister’s addressing US President Barack Obama by his first name, ‘Barack’ during his recent India visit, doesn’t seem to go too well with western media. They consider this as an ‘insult’ to head of the nation. A London based magazine has gone to the extent of calling it as ‘unrestrained speak by a chai wala’. While, on the other hand Modi’s ministers have stooping down to any level in his awe. Last week, at the beginning of his cabinet meet, a woman minister could not stop showering her deep appreciation of Modi’s ways. She went on to say that, ‘sir, you addressing Obama as ‘Barack’, has made every Indian proud; people are feeling close to America and now they find themselves at par with Americans’. No doubt, governance is simply not possible through heart and soul; rather the limits of self proclamations too need to be crossed.

Some are tracing the resurgence of the Aam Aadmi Party to the officious manner in which Kiran Bedi is behaving with the BJP rank and file. The party’s chief minister designate raised the ire of party MPs when at a recent meeting, they were asked to take of their shoes before entering her room. She then proceeded to tell them that they had two minutes each to introduce themselves. An annoyed MP with a Sangh background politely warned her that, “we are MPs and you are our candidate for CM’s post, this introduction should be enough, please come directly to the point”.

Bollywood’s “dhak dhak girl” Madhuri Dixit is evidently a Modi favourite. The grapevine has it that when Modi shared his ‘man ki baat’ with Principal Secretary Nripendra Mishra, the PMO pulled out all the stops to ensure she was invited to the Beti Padhao campaign. The actress refused saying her mother was in the ICU and she needed to be with her. But the PMO insisted and every arrangement was made to ensure she would not have to stay longer than necessary. Dixit travelled to Delhi business class with 10 others, stayed in the luxury suite of a well known five star hotel and graced the function. Rumour is around 8-10 lakhs was spent on her facilitation, rest expenses are still a secret.

Sujatha Singh’s sudden departure as foreign secretary underscores a crucial point: That Modi wants ideas, he appreciates out of the box thinking and has a very clear foreign policy agenda directed towards the US, China and Japan. Last September when he visited US, it was Ambassador Jaishankar who briefed him on what could not sell with his hosts in Washington, not to make his pitch with “Make in India” and “Asian Century” and then of course there was the Madison Square Garden event. It was far removed from the advice tendered by Jaishankar, who was of the opinion that such slogans would not work in the US.

Recently on a road show in Delhi, the BJP’s CM nominee overheard a child asking his father: “Papa is she a Mr Bedi or Ms Bedi?’ Bedi reportedly angry and embarrassed shouted at the father: “haven’t you taught some manners to your child?’
