The translation of a book written on Narendra Modi in Gujarati titled “Feku bhai dilli ma” in Hindi and English is shaking up the Delhi political scene. Congress and AAP are busy attempting to make several things written in the book viral. The book also mentions that what happened to the 24 big election announcements Modi had made in the 2014 election campaigns. What has Modi’s government done about his promises made two-and-a-quarter-years ago? The book also aims to tell that most of Modi’s public schemes are but an extension of the UPA government’s schemes. Modi army, which is extremely active on social media, is also getting ready to give a fitting reply.

Ever since political maverick Amar Singh has come to Rajay Sabha on the SP quota, Mulayam Singh’s relations with BJP’s top men Modi and Shah have soured somewhat. Now the Central government is looking at framing Amar Singh one way or the other. Taking away Y-category security from him only proves the point. Sources also say that in the days to come, the matter of disproportional assets of Mulayam and Amar will gain weightage, so that the two leaders can be subdued.

After facing strong opposition to several bills in the Rajya Sabha, the top saffron leader Narendra Modi is behaving differently. He has faced a lot of ruckus and personal attacks against him in the Rajya Sabha as well. As a result, he has made up his mind to ensure BJP and BJP-supported candidates make it to the Rajya Sabha. Congress’ candidate from Madhya Pradesh has the support of 57 MLAs the moment. They need 58 votes; one is in the by-elections. It is said Modi has called Shivraj Singh about this seat no less than three times, and has warned him that this time should not be like what happened at Jhabua, and that he should give this all he’s got. Thus, this by-election has now become a matter of prestige for Shivraj.

Once he was the sentinel of Gandhi family’s interests. But Haryana’s former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda is not the same man today. He is angry that without taking him into confidence, Madam Sonia got Kuldeep Bishnoi into the Congress. It is said Bishnoi was given an order by the high command that he meet Shailaja; also catch up with Ashok Tanwar and Ajay yadav, but Hooda should not know about his entry into the Congress. Enraged, Hooda then asked for time to meet Sonia, but it’s been a month and he has not been given the time from 10, Janpath. Then a strict message from his side was sent to 10, Janpath, saying if Modi government sends him to jail, he will not allow the Gandhi family to make him the scapegoat, and that he too will open his mouth. He got an appointment with Sonia within two days of sending the message.

Hooda talked about his plight when he met Sonia, and said that the state’s jats were still with the Congress and Hooda. Why was it then that the party was running after non-Jats. There’s BJP for non-jat voters! Sonia told him Chautala’s RLD had the same influence over jats. She then asked him to come to point and tell her what he wants. Hooda said he wanted his son Deependra Hooda to get a prominent responsibility the next time there is a reshuffle in the Congress. To this Sonia said she had got several complaints about his son’s ill temper. To this Hooda told her the same was being said about Rahul Gandhi and that she shouldn’t listen to what people say. After all, talking is what people do. Hooda got a tad emotional thereafter and apologized for anything he shouldn’t have said. He said all that he’s done for the Gandhi family will always stay in his heart, and no one will come to know of it, even if that meant going to prison. Sonia didn’t understand what it meant – was Hooda taunting her, expressing his angst, or threatening her.

Whatever happened to Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia’s promise that she will choose local candidates for all Rajya Sabha seats from the state? She had said she will not entertain any outside candidate; especially not Venkaiah Naidu, and Om Mathur, never. Then she was called to Delhi by the party president. After a marathon meeting with Amit Shah that lasts several hours, Scindia agrees to both Naidu and Mathur’s names. The million dollar question is: What did Shah do? Did he show her some documents? Or was it that he pulled rank with her, or did he show this woman politician her place?

Mamata didi didn’t expect winning with such heavy margins. On Thursday morning when the results were to be out, a calm didi sat with those close to her. Before the results, neither did she visit a temple, nor did she go to a mosque. Sources say she did, however, have a long conversation with her astrologer in Jagannath Puri. Didi’s house neither had a caterer, nor fire crackers to celebrate the win. In the evening, too, the office had preparations for merely tea and the ubiquitous jhaal-muri. A close aide of didi’s said that for this term, her focus will be on progress of West Bengal, as well as addressing the law and order situation. She is ready to support the Central government based on issues; but the NDA will have to pay adequately for this.

An interview with Robert Vadra got a lot of attention recently. Sources say several explosive revelations during the interview have been edited on Vadra’s demand. Have a look at the original interview: Vadra is asked, “Will you enter politics? Vadra: “Let’s see.” Next question: Will you contest the election from Amethi? Reply: “Why just Amethi? I can contest from Varanasi as well; and why just Varanasi, I can content from anywhere in India and win because thousand and lakhs of Congress workers are emotionally attached to me.” Next question: “Who is your hero?” Reply: My hero is my mother. Where the Gandhi family is concerned, they have been inspired by me to an extent, and I have taken some tips from them.”

Central minister Uma Bharti, too, is gradually looking at becoming more active in UP politics. A few days ago, she invited some chosen journalists for lunch at her residence. She shared her thoughts with them, saying, “UP is not seeing growth, but destruction.” She added, “I’m happy being at the Centre, and don’t want to get into state politics again, but party people want that I should stake a claim for the chief minister’s post.” A journalist from Maharashtra quipped, “Didi, which state are you talking about?” Uma said she was talking about UP. The journalist innocently retorted, “But you are from Madhya Pradesh.” Sources say Ms Minister got angry at this and left the table and went inside. The matter got resolved only after the journalist apologized.
