Margaret might go to Jharkhand

Posted on 29 August 2010 by admin

Margaret Alva is not happy with her present governor’s position in Uttarakhand and may be sent to Jharkhand. Since the state is to see elections soon and is under President’s rule currently, the role of the governor might be a crucial one. And Jharkhand is also a state where there is no dearth of Christian missionaries but recently there have been some loud noises against them. In such circumstances, sending Alva to the state might be looked upon as a symbolic step by the Central government headed by the Congress. Obviously, Alva’s role right now would be to curb “Anti Christian” people and please the Christian Catholic Church.

Nitish’s old friend Rajiv Ranjan aka Lallan Singh has made up his mind to join the Congress. To test the Congress waters, he has even thrown Jamshed Ashraf as a stone in the far end of the pool. Ashraf was a minister in Nitish Kuma’s government and is close to Lallan as well. The Congress is treating him alright. He was supposed to have taken part in the Congress rally with Sonia Gandhi in Patna on 24, but that was cancelled. But Lallan’s mind is made up. He is in constant touch with Ahmed Patel and has been seen visiting Rajiv Shukla’s residence at times. Congress on the other hand wants to see how big a division can Lallan create in JD (U). That will decide his political stature in the party.

Dinakaran may be off the hook

Posted on 10 August 2010 by admin

There are possibilities Justice Dinakaran may be buried of the charges. The Rajya Sabha had formed a three-member probe committee against him. The committee has one Supreme Court and one high court judge with Nariman being the third. The committee hasn’t got any substantial proof against him; the parliamentarians who had written letters against him are also changing their stand now and have confesses that they don’t have any solid witnesses against him. When the judge had been transferred to the Sikkim High Court recently, there were talks that this dalit Christian judge will be buried of the charges.
