Son-in-law blues

Posted on 07 November 2010 by admin

He’s the son-in-law of the biggest political family in India. He’s hit, fit and sporty. Late night parties are his weakness. He has already talked about his political ambitions in an interview. So, when Delhi opened a new pub, the invitation to inaugurate it went to the son-in-law. Ever punctual, he arrived on time and was made to sit on a VIP table. A few moments later, a middle-ages fashion designer sat on the same table with her young male friend. The son-in-law’s attraction drew her to the table. The fashion designer’s boyfriend – who is also a young model – was new to such Page 3 parties and was high after a few drinks. He started to make rude comments pointing out to the son-in-law. He probably didn’t know the son-in-law’s status and started to make comments about his moustache; “I don’t like this man’s moustache,” he said. The fashion designer tried hard to keep him in check but the man was uncontrollable now. The son-in-law’s limit of endurance had also been reached and by the time his security personnel could come forward and do something, the man has started to get physical with him. The bouncers in the pub threw him out but by then the son-in-law’s mood and appetite to party were ruined and he left the place.

What news in the press conference?

Posted on 28 October 2010 by admin

The idea of BJP President Nitin Gadkari holding a press conference was Kirit Somaiya and Piyush Goyal’s idea. The conference was hyped and the press people also thought that some secret about it will be revealed and the conference was choc-a-block with press personnel. But when they got the first information report about the CWG from the party president, they were left disappointed since there was nothing new in the same. The same old newspaper clippings, copies of speeches given by Kirti Azad and Anurag Singh Thakur in the Parliament, questions asked in the Parliament, CAG and SCS reports… The medial people were already familiar with all this and went back empty-handed after the conference.

But the process to protect the most important person of an important family in the country is on. Everyone knows who that person is who his political ambitions are soaring. His interests lie in an infrastructure company that is controlled by a Punjabi family. This family has got a big contract during the Commonwealth Games. But the government has now told the investigative companies to keep the infrastructure companies out of the investigation and focus more on the suppliers. Kudos to democracy, by the people, of the people!

The steeped-in-corruption government

Posted on 19 October 2010 by admin

Yedurappa’s government is counted among the most corrupt in the state. A government that is formed on corruption can easily be broken, toppled and shaken. Several ministers of the state are already under the scanner for grave corruption charges. This is affecting the chief minister, too. His son and son-in-law have been charged with buying land form farmers at dirt-cheap prices and then sold them at high rates under the Change of Land Act. It is heard that after the notification, the price of five acres of land has gone up to Rs 250 crore. The readers can make an idea for themselves on the kind of money the son and the son-in-law must’ve made from this deal.

The games of the mining lobby

Posted on 19 October 2010 by admin

It cost Yedurappa dearly to lock horns with the strong mining lobby in the state. This lobby then decided to do all it can to topple the government. Yedurappa had put a stop to the exporting iron ore in a significant order. This made Baltoda and Modi piqued with the Reddy brothers. The mining lobby had then decided to topple the government and, in its place, bring Congress-supported government of JD(S)’s Kumaraswamy. These industrialists also have iron ore mines in Andhra Pradesh, Orissa and Jharkhand which reaps them rich benefits. That may be the reason Rs 320 crore were allegedly spent on buying and selling 32 MPs. The political world may not have gained any brownie points with the common man but it surely has soared their prices sky-high.

Lalu’s clout

Posted on 19 October 2010 by admin

According to a recent public opinion survey conducted by the BJP and Congress, the state’s Rajputs, Yadavs and Muslims are supporting Lalu. Realizing this, Raul Gandhi did his best to woo the Muslim voters by his speeches at his rallies in Araria, Katihar and Supol, so that they can be broken from Lalu and led towards the Congress vote bank.

Modi’s endless troubles

Posted on 19 October 2010 by admin

The coming days for Lalit Modi may become all the more difficult. Politicians once close to him are even avoiding his phone calls now, so much so that his old pal Praful Patel is also ignoring him. With no other choice, Modi’s wife Meenal is touring small countries such as Finland, Iceland and those that broke away from erstwhile USSR in search for citizenship. Modi is ready to pay any price for the same.

Ali Baba and 40 thieves

Yadurappa’s government in Karnataka is being touted as the most corrupt government. The country hadn’t recovered from the shocking news of ministers grabbing for their share of the pie when Yedurappa’s sons being involved in a land scam is coming to the fore. The Congress is pulling up its socks to take the BJP to task about it while Yedurappa and his sons are trying hard to downplay it.

Congress’ sting operation

Posted on 19 September 2010 by admin

In the process of Munda government being formed in Jharkhand, all that was done and doled out is present with Congress party as a recording. This CD shows a political leader from a supporting party accepting a huge sum of money. This money had been put together by contributions from chosen business houses and a businessman from Punjab. It is possible that three-four months later, the party produces all these proofs to the court and try to get the BJP party, its supporters and the Arjun Munda to face the fire. But the process is being delayed deliberately so that in the mean time projects by Mukesh Ambani get a green signal.
