The same question is being asked within the Congress: which genius prepared Rahul’s speech during the Anna episode, because of which Manmohan got brownie points and the speech flopped. All fingers are pointing at Kapil Sibal.

बेनी की बेचैनी

Posted on 13 September 2011 by admin

This is not the first time when a complaint against Steel Minister Beni Prasad Verma has reached the prime minister. The recent one is about NMDC (National Mineral Development Corporation), which comes under the steel ministry. The PSB, that is Public Enterprising Selection Board has selected an honest officer M S Rana for the CMD’s post, but under pressure from the mining lobby, the minister is advocating the appointment of NMDC’s director, technical, N K Nanda for the post. It is the same Nanda who was once in-charge of the mining in Bellary, and nothing about what happened there is hidden. The PMO itself seems to be in favour of Rana, because of the radical steps Rana has taken as the mint’s in-charge. The PMO wants him to repeat the success at NMDC, but the minister himself doesn’t see eye-to-eye with the PM on this.

The CAG report that talked about Air India’s scams of Rs 40,000 crore, a finger has also been pointed at a group of minister. Home Minister P Chidambaram’s overactive dealing of the issue is also raising several questions. It may come as a relief to Prafful Patel that he is not the only one who will be named in the entire issue.

New twist in the Pandya murder plot

Posted on 04 September 2011 by admin

The Congress has decided to give a new political turn to the murder of Hiren Pandya, the former home minister of Gujarat. The way Justice Waghela’s recent judgment acquitted the few Muslim accused in the case, the needle of suspicion now points to all the accusations Hiren’s father had made and had held Narendra Modi directly responsible for his son’s death. Now Pandya’s widow Jagriti’s statement point to the same accusation. In the days to come, the Pandya family may submit an SLP to the high court or the Supreme Court and make the request that the whole issue should be investigated once again. Which means the Congress is in no mood to let go of Modi lightly.

The hidden mantras of a democracy

Posted on 04 September 2011 by admin

This is the first time that the Speaker and the Opposition leader are at loggerheads over the Lok Sabha’s Secretary General. The BJP has its own questions and doubts, and is shocked at the active participation of India’s biggest corporate family on the appointment of the secretary general. Every question is important, be is a regular one or one asked during the question hour; the questions may be sponsored but what about the intentions? And it is during such differences that the real face of our democracy comes to light.

A new way of acclaiming scams

Posted on 28 August 2011 by admin

Life’s tales have several mentions of cruel coincident, too. For instance, this Friday when the Congress yuvraj got up to talk about corruption armed with all the right expressions and frowns, he didn’t know what time and future had in store. The $2 billion Mirage deal could become a sore point for the Congress in the days to come. There have been some evidence that middlemen had a big role to play in the deal and it is speculated that as kick-back, an amount of Rs 300 crore that has allegedly been deposited in a company account in Singapore (the company is registered in Switzerland and works out of Singapore) is owned by a man who has connections with India’s most powerful political family. The talk related to scams of the company are being heard within and outside the Parliament and maybe that is why the person prefers to stay in London instead of India nowadays. The same person is being held accountable for a deal concerning night vision devices with an Israeli company. So, if there’s talk, there’s bound to be some more….

Ahmad, with all his respects

Posted on 21 August 2011 by admin

On one hand, Ahmed Patel is like the de factor president of the Congress and is giving instructions to the government, but since he’s is on rozas these days – and Patel is one who does the namaz five times a day – most of his time is being spent on praying to Khuda. As a result, only the time that is leftover is being given to the government and the party. Most of the times his mobile is on switch off mode and he doesn’t even reply to incoming text messages.

The whole truth about black money

Posted on 16 August 2011 by admin

The real truth about Indian black money accounts in foreign banks is even beginning to reveal itself on Twitter now. The list was doing the rounds in the political corridors for a long time, and an English daily newspaper even said that the list of people with such accounts is nearly 700. But only one foreign bank is being talked about while the total Indian money planted in such accounts equals nearly 1,24,000 crore in foreign banks. Which means there are other banks involved, too, and the bank whose name has been mentioned must have already siphoned the money elsewhere. And maybe the news was leaked from government agencies for solely this purpose.
