The seat sharing tussle is still on between Ajit Singh and the Congress. Ajit camp is of the view that the Congress is giving less than what is due to them, while the Congress is saying that Ajit is asking for not only seats but the expenses therein.

Narendra Modi is upset with a section of the media trailing his wife Jasoda Ben Chimanlal Modi. Allegedly, Modi left his wife right after marriage and sent her back to her father’s place saying, “You need to study more.” He never turned to look back at her ever since, who got her education and became a teacher. She is currently teaching in a small Muslim village in Baaskantha district in Gujarat. She stays there and earns her living from teaching. Modi has neither refuted the claim that Jasodaben is his wife and neither has he accepted it. But he isn’t taking kindly to the media’s habit of relentlessly trailing Jasodaben. He also knows that it won’t be an easy task getting anything negative out from Jasodaben about him.

With Modi, it’s not just the vote bank that Nitish has differences about. A lot also has to do with ego and arrogance. Nitish knows that there are several voices that follow everything about him. Despite all the screams, Nitish’s own voice is a part of the cacophony. IF despite all the anger and political differences, if Nitish hasn’t been able to turn away from Modi and the BJP, it is because he is nursing ambitions of becoming the prime minister. The top leadership of the BJP kept Nitish under the impression that if the BJP isn’t able to nominate its own person for PM’s post in the 2014 elections, it will place Nitish’s name for the same.

Once the prime minister is back from the US, a decision-making meeting may take place between 10, Janpath and prime minister regarding the Pranab da and Chidambaram scenario. If the Opposition continues to attack PC as it is, he might just have to resign. The whole episode is being closely followed by Amar Singh who is in AIIMS, and those close to him. If Chidambaram doesn’t go, Amar might have to go back to Tihar because the comments Amar Singh made about PC’s son regarding the Vedanta issue is still fresh in PC’s mind.

There was a time when the Congress couldn’t stop boasting about the NAC (National Advisory Committee) but now it is like an albatross around its neck. Congressmen feel that it was because of the pressure from the NAC that they had to bring the RTI Act into existence. And today the same RTI activists (such as Arvind Kejriwal) are becoming a bane for the party. Now the Congress is gearing up to attack the RTI activists and wants to bring to light the nexus between them and the corporate sector. The collection of proofs is on as to how many RTI applications have been withdrawn. The Congress is trying to sniff out some transactions that happened with the applications being withdrawn.

After Karnataka and Uttrakhand, is Himachal next? The BJP is in a hurry for an image makeover and is not taking time in replacing its tainted chief ministers. In such a scenario, Dhumal and his son’s deeds and misdemeanors aren’t hidden from anyone. Under Shanta Kumar’s leadership, a small group of Dhumal opposing leaders met Gadkari but Gadkari didn’t see too much opposition in them. So he only told the dissatisfied group that if not the chief minister, the state party president would be of their choice. But it is heard that seeing the change of baton in Uttrakhand, Shanta Kumar is preparing to put his point across more strongly.

Once called an old-age home, the Planning Commission is all set to change its look and feel. This is a sign that in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Congress will enter the arena under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership. And since the Planning Commission is working on its 12th Five Year Plan (2012-17) and wants to incorporate youth’s ambitions and sentiments and make them more real, the Yojana Bhavan has recruited young people between 20-30 years of age as consultants. Not only has the plan got a sanction from the Planning Commission’s Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia, but the State Planning Minister Ashwini Kumar can be seen being proactive and generous with the plan. So much so that the Yojana Bhavan now even has a special parking space with a board that says: Only for young professionals.

According to most political experts, news channel anchors have been rechristened noisemen and not newsmen.
