“Gujarat to jhanki hai, Dilli abhi baaki hai”. Whenever the slogan is spoken in his favour, he smiles a little smile. His heart is in Gujarat but his eyes are set on Delhi. Modi is visiting Delhi on December 27, only for a day, to understand and guage the mind and intentions of the saffron leaders. His knowledge and pride in Brand Modi is not new, so now Modi’s people want to test his brand outside of Gujarat and see how well it works. Team Modi has zeroed-in on 250 Lok Sabha areas where Modi will be touring in the days to come. In some ways, Modi is highly influenced by Vivekananda’s thoughts and philosophy, and so a tour such as “Vivekananda Jan Jagran Yatra” is being planned and its frame being put in place. Modi will tour the entire India. In the coming Assembly elections in Karnataka, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh, Modi may emerge as the star campaigner for the party. Which means Modi is bent upon putting pressure on the Sangh Parivar and the party so that he is projected as the next prime ministerial candidate from the BJP for the next Lok Sabha elections.

Manish Tiwari has come forward as another firefighter for the UPA. In the past few days, Manmohan Singh government and Congress’ reputation have taken a beating and the country’s media is aggressively attacking it. In such a scenario, in his new avatar as information and broadcasting minister, Manish is redefining the rules of the game. In contrast to his image of being obstinate, he is now reaching out to newspaper and channel heads and trying to work on a better relationship with them. Not just that, he is meeting media group owners one after another. One of his NRI friends, whose work involves dealing with media funds, is instrumental in helping him achieve it. It is being hoped that in the days to come, the media’s take on the government and the party made change in the days to come.

Before his death, there was a time when Bal Thackeray’s health dipped so much the two doctors who are a part of his army gave up. A third doctor was summoned and who came like a wish fulfilled and stabilised Thackeray’s health. It is said that Amitabh and Abhishek Bachhan were the only two people who could go inside and meet Bal Thackeray. Otherwise most people were merely meeting Uddhav, who was sitting on the chair outside the room.

MNS will soon be merged with Shiv Sena. It is being said that because of his latest behaviour, Raj Thackeray’s acceptance has increased. The way he went to meet Uddhav, was with Bal Thackeray like a shadow when he was unwell and so on. Also, Raj’s organisation of MNS is still not complete. Shiv Sainiks also want that both brothers should stay together. Raj has his uncle Bal Thackeray’s charisma. Uddhav too is agitated about his current health situation. A miracle might just be in the offing with Raj’s charisma and Shiv Sena’s prowess as an organisation. Uddhav’s son Aditya is said to be pretty close to his uncle Raj. It is possible that Raj may teach the nuances of politics to Uddahv’s son, just like his own uncle Bal Thackeray had done with him in the past.

Sharad Sinha of Bihar cadre may well have taken the lead when it comes to the appointment as the next CBI chief, but the race was being run by several heavyweights. For instance, Delhi Police’s Niraj Kumar, Sharad Sinha of Haryana cadre and Atul Kumar of UP cadre. But Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda was aggressively lobbying for Sharad Sinha. Sources reveal that he had even met the all-powerful in the Congress Ahmad Patel for Sinha. Hooda has the blessings of Patel. The idea of Delhi Police Chief Niraj Kumar among the Congress high command nowadays is that he is a tad soft on Arvind Kejriwal. That is why the people of India Against Corruption can manage to sit on a dharna at 10, Janpath or 7, Race Course anytime they want. They cordon the residence of Bhupinder Singh Hooda in Delhi but the Delhi Police stands there as a mute spectator. That is why Niraj Kumar’s name from the race was scrapped. Hooda was mighty excited about Sharad Sinha and had managed to assure Ahmad Patel that the Vadra matter will get some relief with his coming. By getting his own CBI chief, not only does Hooda want no trouble for himself, he wants the CBI tighten its noose around Chautala and his sons. But because of his intervention from the PMO, he couldn’t achieve his target.

The Sangh has finally decided to give the boon of survival to NitinGadkari, who has been battling several charges of corruption against him. Sources reveal that he will remain party president until December this year and complete his tenure. The party may get a new president in January next year. Even if half-heartedly, Gadkari has told the Sangh and senior party leaders that he is not keen on another tenure as party president. There are two views on Gadkari’s resignation. One camp is roaring on about transparency and morality and asking for Gadkari’s immediate resignation. The other camp that is close to the Sangh says that the party president can’t resign on the basis of media trial. If it was he done thing, Manmohan Singh whose name appeared in CAG report and Rajiv Gandhi who was named in Bofors Scam should have resigned.

The BJP in Uttar Pradesh has reason to cheer. All thanks to the Congress-led UPA government’s doings such as rising costs, FDI, rise in petro prices and gas cylinder capping, not to forget the support given to the government by the SP and the BSP. The BJP itself is surprised by a recent investigative report, according to which if the party launches the right candidates in UP for the Parliamentary elections, half the battle, that is 40 seats, will be on its side.
