BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is against dynastic politics and is thus against the Gandhi family as well. But Modi wants to bring several other clans and families who have made a mark for themselves, into the BJP fold. Siddharthnath Singh from Lal Bahadur Shastri’s family is already in the BJP; now Lal Bahadur Shastri’s son Sunil Shastri, too, is abandoning the Congress to make the switch to the BJP. Former Prime Minister Morarji Desai’s grandson Madhukeshwar Desai is also in the BJP, and Modi is definitely eyeing the Patel family now.

If Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi had been a little more kind during the Chattisgarh Assembly elections, Dr Raman Singh may not have been able to make the hat-trick he did. In South Chattisgarh, that is Bastar, only three of the eighteen seats were with the Congress. After the first phase of elections, but Congress strategists started to feel that they had more than half of the seats in Bastar. So, Charandas Mahant immediately went to Delhi and met Rahul Gandhi, telling him that he should spend as much time as he can with the remaining 72 seats. Mahant also mentioned in to Rahul that while Raman Singh has giving Rs two crore to each of the party’s candidates, the Congress was giving merely Rs 25 lakh. Rahul told him that he will speak to Motilal Vohra and send more money there. But no money came in and only five days before the elections, an upset Mahant called up Rahul. His PSO answered the phone and told him, “Baba is in the gym. I’ll have him speak to you.” Mahant and Rahul spoke at night and the next day, he sent merely Rs four crore for 72 seats. Who could’ve gained from this? No seat, no money!

The Sangh and BJP feel that party’s prominent leaders should contest the elections from Delhi. Thus, party’s senior leader Sushma Swaraj has shown her interest in contesting the Parliamentary election from West Delhi. There was talk about getting Navjot Singh Sidhu to fight from this seat, but the news now is that Sidhu will contest from his old seat in Amritsar. Seeing the large number of voters from Purvanchal, party leaders such as Ravi Shankar Prasad, Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Kirti Azad who are from Bihar are being asked if they would like to contest the elections from Delhi. But these leaders have given no answer since Delhi is under the AAP wave at present, sending shivers down a lot of spines.

Despite innumerable attempts by the Congress, it is unable to tighten its noose on neither Narendra Modi neither his confidante Amit Shah. CBI Director Ranjeet Sinha is not ready to bend backwards for the present government that is led by the Congress. The fact of the matter is that Ranjeet Sinha has several more years before his retirement, which means he may have to work under the government that will come into power next. What if the next ruling party’s head is Narendra Modi? So, “Na kahu se dosti, na kahu se vair”.

It wasn’t just Kapil Sibal’s camp – more than half of Congress was against Sheila Dikshit; only Rahul Gandhi and Sandeep Dikshit were with her a 100 per cent. Sonia was also uncertain about her opinion. But according to a majority of the Congress people, Sheila’s mask of gracefulness has dropped, her Teflon coating was off, and it wasn’t just those opposing Sheila, those in the Sonia coterie also felt that if Sheila wins the fourth term as Delhi’s chief minister, she might become a strong contender for the prime minister’s post. So, due to Sheila, the very Congress party is being harmed.

The Congress’ Dirty Tricks Department has made up its mind to frame Modi in one case or another. Modi has not even recovered from the allegations of spying on a girl, and a photograph of Modi with that girl has been made public on a website, and a new damaging news may come to light in the next few days. Reliable sources say that all preparations have been made to make a sex CD public; is it not clear where this CD will lead to?

If sources are to be believed Thakur politicians Amar Singh may join the Congress very soon. In any case, Amar hasn’t uttered a word against Rahul and Sonia since 2008. He also evades commenting about the Congress. Jaya Prada, who is close to Amar Singh, may contest the Rampur seat with a Congress ticket. Muradabad’s current candidate Md Azharuddin may be asked to contest the elections Andhra Pradesh. For some time, not just Amar Singh but those close to him are also active. Pradeep Rai, who was once Amar’s assistant and has been seen looking after assignments and work for Sahara Shri Subroto Roy and Flax Industries’ Ashok Chaturvedi, is planning to launch two TV channels – one a news channel and another regarding law.

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupendra Hooda is busy trying to get the Assembly dismissed. He is waiting for the day when the Lok Sabha will be adjourned and he will announce the Assembly elections for Haryana the very next day, so that both the Lok Sabha elections and Assembly elections for Haryana happen side by side. Hood believes that if both these elections happen simultaneously, the Opposition that stands united my break. The BJP wants to contest the Lok Sabha elections under an alliance with the parties of both Chautala and Kuldeep Bishnoi. But this formula will not work for the Assembly election. Hooda’s group believes that if the elections are held and the Congress fares badly, one can always blame it on the government policies at the Centre.

Is it mere coincidence that most companies that sponsored the ‘Tehelka Think Festival 2013’ in Goa are associated with the 2G and Coalgate scams? Take, for instance, companies such as Essar, Unitech, DB Realty from the 2G scam, and those named in the Coalgate matter – the Adani Group. Apart from this, JSW Group and Ponty Chaddha’s companies are associated with the sponsorships for the event. Several company representatives talk in whispers saying they were pressurised to sponsor the event. The Tehelka Group has an incurred loss of Rs 40 crore and it is natural to ask the question: what is the point of running the company at such huge losses?

After several faux pas on history, geography and economy made by Modi in the recent speeches, he is trying to be careful about what he says. Yashwant supplies him with all the information he needs on the foreign policy as well as the monetary situation. So when Modi pulled up Yashwant on how China spends 20 per cent of its GDP on education, while it is only 3.9 in actual, Yashwant clarified that it was his team’s fault; he was not in India and thus could not see the feedback. What his (Yashwant’s) team actually wanted to say was that compared to India, China spends 20 per cent more on education. But this didn’t satisfy Modi and he has told Yashwant to be doubly-sure about numbers and statistics in future.
