How Bahuguna came unscathed

Posted on 05 January 2014 by admin

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna had come to Delhi in the last week of December carrying his resignation; Rahul wanted his immediate resignation. But when Bahuguna approached Sonia with his resignation, he got respite in the form of some more time, because there a common opinion could not be formed about the three names in the race – Harish Rawat, Harak Singh Rawat and Indira Hridayesh. The Congress MLAs are not ready for Harak Singh, and neither do they take Hridayesh seriously. Despite getting majority votes in his support, Harish Rawat is still not getting go ahead and that is because Satpal Maharaj and his camp oppose his name. The Congress High Command is also of the opinion that if Harish Rawat does not get a chance this time, he may turn a rebel. The BJP too is moving with a strategy and is ready to support any Congress rebel to become the chief minister. The Congress too understands it and in any case, Rahul camp is upset with Bahuguna after the Uttarkashi tragedy.

In the race for Lokpal

Posted on 05 January 2014 by admin

Eleven judges are due to retire from the Supreme Court, and two chief justices are also due to retire. Chief Justice P Sathashivam is due to retire in April 2014, and Justice Rajendra Mal Lodha, who too will retire after merely three months in August. After that, H L Duttu will become the next chief justice. No wonder there is a race of sorts among retired judged to become the Lokpal.

The game of musical chairs between Rahul and Manmohan

Posted on 28 December 2013 by admin

The script for high-voltage drama has been written in the Congress. The rehearsals by actors playing different characters is on; maybe that is why Rahul can’t stop his eyes from welling over at the mention of the Adarsh scam. (According to the demand of the script) He also has a lot of work and seems to be wanting to wash his hands off the prime minister. Thus, Manmohan also says that he is ready to work within the organization. Which means in the coming days, by January 17, the Congress may see a few major changes within the government. The game of musical chairs might start out to play and Rahul and Manmohan may handle each other’s responsibilities. Thus, Rahul may become the new prime minister and Manmohan may become the vice president of the party and the party may see this drama on January 17 at a meeting. On that day, senior and veteran party leaders will praise Rahul and propose his name and the party will announce Rahul Gandhi as the prime minister unanimously. Which means the 2014 Lok Sabha elections may be fought by the Congress with Rahul Gandhi as the prime ministerial candidate. Thus, 2014 elections may turn out to be Rahul vs Modi.

Modi’s cutting-edge campaigning

Posted on 22 December 2013 by admin

Everybody is trying to think out of the box when it comes to political strategies. Narendra Modi believes in giving his campaign movement a cutting edge; his election campaign is already armed with Web Tool 2.0’s multi-faceted internet know-how such as Twitter, Facebook, Hangout and Podcasts. Preparations are now on to take Modi’s 3D rath to small towns and cities. Instead of the traditional posters will be 3D and LED technique-enabled life-like cut-outs of Modi in metro cities and B-towns. The next elections will see more than 12 crore youth casting their votes for the first time. To entice this group, a Chinese company is designing a smartphone that will come with a ‘Super NaMo’ Theme and these smartphones will be distributed among more than  50,000 young people of India. More than 25 Apps are being designed that will keep Modi’s campaign in mind and while will project him as the hero. These include apps such as Modi Games like  Modi Run and poll Apps like Modi vs Rahul. Just like Kejriwal’s strategy, Modi is using the ‘Robot Calling’ Technique to get his message delivered to the voters directly. There is no question of silence in this high-decibel election campaigning.

Legally speaking

Posted on 08 December 2013 by admin

Justice A K Ganguly’s challenges ahead are only set to increase. After all, why did the Supreme Court feel that a case of prima facie can be made against Justice Ganguly? That is because there was two more complains from girls apart from the intern. Sources reveal that another girl has filed a complaint against the judge seperatly. There are more legal wrangles waiting for sure.

Modi’s Ahmad Patel

Posted on 05 December 2013 by admin

BJP vice-president Mukhtar  Abbas Naqvi’s new political avatar has shocked those from this party and those who are in opposition of the party. After the recent sunrise of Narendra Modi’s career within the party, Naqvi’s stature in the party has increased. He is being called NaMo’s ears, eyes and nose in Delhi. He is not only a part of NaMo’s kitchen cabinet, he also gives frequent updates to him from Delhi. People from the party were surprised when on the occasion of Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary, Modi invited only two people from Delhi for the unveiling of Patel’s statue – Advani and Naqvi. A national Indian daily took advantage of the incident and called Naqvi Modi’s Ahmad Patel. It was Naqvi who brought in Modi’s ambitious “Vision document for empowerment of minorities” to attract the country’s minority communities. He is not only heading Modi’s war room but is also making his opinion on things known to prominent party leaders. No wonder Naqvi’s a hit.

Delhi for Rs 85 crore

Posted on 05 November 2013 by admin

Congress has fixed its budget for Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh and Delhi. And although the Election Commission is going to be keeping a keen eye on the party and candidates’ election spend, the Congress has fixed a budget of Rs 85 crore for Delhi and Rs 165 crore Madhya Pradesh. Where star campaigners are concerned for elections in the two states, Congress is betting with all it had on Sonia and Rahul. The Prime Minister is more or less like a newly-wed bride – his face will be seen only a few times at a few elections rallies.

Nira’s pains

Posted on 23 October 2013 by admin

The CBI may tighten its noose around Nira Radia, who made headlines in the 2G scam. A spate of new cases may be registered against her. Until now, top industrialists such as Mukesh Ambani and Ratan Tata were speaking in her favour and defending her but after seeing how things stand, they too have decided to hold their peace. On the other hand, there are business houses that are upset with Nira and want that the strictest punishment should be given to her. Reliable sources close to Radia say that she is considering packing up her businesses in India and moving to London.

Poonam gets Rajnath’s help

Posted on 06 October 2013 by admin

There is no one comparable to BJP President Rajnath Singh when it comes to being there for your friends. Pramod Mahajan had played a crucial role in take-off of political careers of several BJP members. Many of them have distanced themselves from Mahajan’s family now that he is no more. Once they got what they wanted, they had moved on. But Rajnath Singh has a major role to play in making the political career of Poonam Mahajan, Pramod Mahajan’s daughter. In his first tenure as the BJP President, he made Poonam the national vice-president for the BJP’s Yuvamorcha. Now Rajnath wants Poonam to contest the seat from Ram Naik’s seat in north Mumbai. This initiative by Rajnath has full support by the Sangh Parivar because Sangh’s chief Mohan Bhagwat gets along well with the Mahajan family, especially Poonam. Bhagwat himself want that a Marathi Brahmin should get a party ticket from a seat in Mumbai. Looking at the scenario, it seems that Poonam may just start her Parliamentary innings with the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
