The plan of Prakash Ambedkar joining Congress has gone into the shell, just as it seemed it was on the verge of accomplishment. Sources say that Congress had not only promised him seat in Rajya Sabha, it had also decided to make him a general secretary of the party. A press conference had also been planned in Delhi that was supposed to be addressed by Rahul and Prakash jointly. But Ambedkar took a U-turn at last moment stating that he was not ready for his party to be merged in Congress but only wanted an electoral alliance. It is believed that annoyed with this move Rahul Gandhi cancelled the press conference in a huff. The opportunity of seeing Gandhi and Ambedkar sharing the stage has been missed once again.
