A prominent English channel’s head (whom Sharad Yadav attaced openly) has his job in danger. Counted among the biggest media houses in the country, this channel is seeing its owner becoming strict with their channel head. It is believed that in regards to a PF scam, the channel showed the picture of Justice P V Sawant in place of a district court judge. Sawant has also been the head of Press Council. So he immediately slapped a Rs 100 crore defamation case against the channel. After facing defeat in the district and high courts, the channel head has now knocked on the Supreme Court’s doors, and the court has asked the channel to submit Rs 20 crore in cash and Rs 80 crore as bank guarantee with the court. Now the owners of the channel are realising the price they are having to pay for opposing the Central government. And although the matter is still in court, the owners are trying to oust the channel head.

No matter who is going to meet Amar, is being repeatedly told by him that he got a bail only because of Sonia ji. And anyways, Amar had given the Diwali deadline to the Congress that he should either be granted bail or his mouth just might open and out will come the secrets.

Since the time Pulak Chatterjee’s clout is doing its work at the PMO and 10, Janpath, and especially since he has taken over the PMO’s work, TKA Nair’s importance has reduced a little. He is neither as important, nor is the Malyali lobby in the PMO as strong. So Nair is now looking at finding a new role for himself. It is possible he may be made a governor soon and be given the charge of Rajasthan. But the prime minister is in favour of keeping Pulak in Delhi itself.

Regarding the 2G scam, the CBI has appeared before the court and said it will not contest Kanhimozhi’s application for bail. Which means the UPA government is under direct pressure from the DMK. But there are also indications that Jayalalithaa doesn’t seem to be sharing a good equation with the Congress and so the party will now have to look to Karunanidhi again.

Yeddyurappa is not welcome in Advani’s yatra since the charioteer of the rath, Anant Kumar is an announced Yeddy rival. Advani’s rath will enter Karnataka on October 31. But Anant Kumar and Karnataka BJP President E S Ishvarappa have decided that Yeddyurappa will not be seen anywhere near the rath. When asked by the journalists, Anant Kumar says that it is up to the core committee to decide who will come and who will not be invited.

It remains to be seen if Advani’s rath yatra will make the BJP announce him as the prime ministerial candidate or not, but it will surely decide his successor. Before his yatra, there was a lot of activity in the Advani household and Advani’s wife Kamla wanted that their son Jayant should accompany him on the yatra so that the saffron gates of politics open up for him. On the other hand, Advani’s daughter Pratibha is of the view that Jayant is not fit for politics and so, against the mother’s wishes, Pratibha is accompanying her father on the rath yatra, as she is already a daddy’s girl.

After 2G, this is the PMO’s second top secret note that could create another furor in the political alleys. This one has to do with a strict comment from the prime minister to the Stock Exchange Regulator. It is said that former Finance Minister P Chidambaram had a big role to play in the exchange’s well-being and to give it direction.

Anna also couldn’t hold back too long against the temptation of private plane and helicopter rides. Recently, he accepted the services of a private plane only because he had to get back to Ralegarh Siddhi for the Ashtami pooja.

The way the noose is tightening around DMK’s A Raja and Kanhimozhi in the 2G scam, and now that the CBI has decided cases against the duo, their imprisonment sentence may increase from seven years to life sentences. Karunanidhi is calling it a conspiracy of sorts by the Congress and has asked for an emergency party meeting, and the decision of supporting the UPA government will be mulled over. The Tamil Nadu local elections are round the corner and the DMK will have to take a big decision to salvage its sinking reputation.

Prof Ramgopal Yadav is Mulayam Singh’s brother and is counted among the educated people of the Yadav community. But his love for America gets the better of him at times. The professor was in the US recently as part of a Parliamentary Committee, which also had P J Kurian and Rehman Khan as part of the team. Professor sa’ab has spoken at the United Nations twice and is now preparing to go to Washington from New York and will naturally speak there as well. But he isn’t talking where he should – his party members are complaining that the elections are set to take place in UP, but it is the US where the professor seems to be campaigning.
