Boy and the beau

Posted on 18 May 2010 by admin

Former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor reached a party in Rashtrapati Bhawan along with his much-talked-about friend Sunanda Pushkar, whereas the practice at His Excellency’s place is of getting the spouse along. Willy-nilly, Sunanda was also gifted a shawl here. By the time the air cleared, it was too late.

Channels slip on IPL turf

Posted on 07 May 2010 by admin

Just why have all the big television news channels stopped harping the IPL notes all of a sudden? All those news channels, which were round the clock focussing on IPL, were taken aback by the latest TAM ratings. IPL’s telecast and promotion was limited to the metropolitan cities and people in the rural areas and the townships had little to
do with it and so they preferred switching channels. So, now the reality has also dawned on the channels.

Bindra in the spotlight

Posted on 07 May 2010 by admin

It seems after Modi, Bindra could be next on the hit list of BCCI. The officials of BCCI are accusing Bindra of holding two offices of profit. It should be remembered that Bindra is working as the chief adviser in ICC and in lieu of this he gets a hefty salary of 10 lakh rupees per month. On the other hand, Bindra is also an honorary member of BCCI. Apart from this, there are also allegations against Bindra that his daughter, son and daughter-in-law work for the Kings XI Punjab team so that the family fortune remains in the family. But now BCCI’s eyes are on Bindra. So after Modi, it could next be his number.

In the political circles, word is going around that the poison tipped
arrows that were fired by Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh at
Union Home Minister Chidambaram, had the backing of the party prince
Rahul Gandhi. Perhaps this is why Chidambaram had in haste offered to
step down from the post. It was Sonia Gandhi’s mediation in the matter
that the matter was resolved but Chidambaram continues to be a worried
man at hear.

Knowing Sunanda Pushkar

Posted on 26 April 2010 by admin

The past of Shashi Tharoor’s latest girl friend (who he wants to make his life partner) is as lonely as the unfulfilled wishes of a vagabond. It is said that Sunanda Pushkar was then a mere receptionist when she fell for a musician Raina and became his wife. But after a few years, she fell in love with Raina’s friend Menon and became Mrs. Menon. There was another turn of events and Menon committed suicide.
Then Sunanda went to the Gulf and became the PRO of a real estate company there. Then she got close to leaders ranging from Kamal Nath to Farooq Abdullah. Sources tell us that it was Kamal Nath who had
introduced her to Tharoor. Now she has got a 5 per cent stake in a Rs 1500 crore company, that too without shelling out a penny from her own pocket. So she has suddenly become the owner of Rs 75 crore and she has already been ruling the heart of Tharoor.

Time has come to threaten those who bark. It is now time to raise a commotion. Before someone steals your silence, it is time you started screaming and shouting. The angry Bihari babu has an open invitation from the Congress. Come hither. The Congress is also willing to give a Rajya Sabha berth to Poonam Sinha. It remains to be seen in what
manner would Shatrughan Sinha break his silence.

Where to Reddy brothers?

Posted on 22 April 2010 by admin

Karnataka’s well known and notorious Reddy brothers are trying to leave BJP and join the Congress. So should one believe that they sold their steel company at Kadappa for a mere Rs 1500 crore to Congress MP Navin Jindal under party pressure? The noose of the law is tightening around the Reddy brothers and their financial position is also not
healthy. Therefore they are looking towards the Congress with eager eyes, this can easily be understood.

To defeat India in political tennis, Pakistan has now started harping the new line of water. In the political circles, these latest outpourings of Pakistan are being referred to as water terrorism. Even
otherwise, Pakistan wants to keep alive its undeclared war on India at all costs. Be it the issue of Kashmir or of 26/11, Pakistan does not want to pour water on its plans so soon.

Left heads rightward

Posted on 04 April 2010 by admin

Recently CPI(M) Polit Buro’s two-day meeting was convened in Delhi but nothing appears to be going right for the Left. So the two-day’s programme was completed in a single day. Most of the big leaders who had been invited did not turn up. Those who came are no longer crowd pullers. Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya did not come and
while the red CM of Tripura Manik Sarkar did turn up, it was only to show his face; he left after a very short stay. Despite Prakash Karat’s presence, Sitaram Yechury also made a quick exit saying he had to catch a flight for delivering a lecture at Columbia University. The
topic of the meeting was “Future of the Left’’, but Yechury was more keen on speaking in the far off America. Along with Yechury, Communist political scientist Prabhat Patnaik is also leaving. When the Left appears to be headed to becoming a thing of the past in West Bengal,
its popular leaders are searching for a future in America.
