The plan of action

Posted on 08 July 2013 by admin

The Congress has a clear strategy for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. It wants to attack all those top BJP leaders who have attacked Sonia or Rahul Gandhi in the past and have given statements against them. For now, Congress’ list includes Narendra Modi, Sushma Swaraj, Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari.

Sharma’s saffron sayings

Posted on 29 June 2013 by admin

Are Modi’s political winds really ready to fly far and wide, so much so that its effects can be seen in Haryana? If sources are to be believed, Congress’ parliamentarian Arvind Sharma from Karnal, Haryana, is in constant touch with the BJP. And several BJP leaders are whispering aloud that Sharma will contest the 2014 Lok Sabha elections on the BJP ticket, and that too from Faridabad. From the same place, the Congress is looking at launching Raj Babbar.

NaMo’s money power

Posted on 10 June 2013 by admin

Ramlal and Saudan Singh are at loggerheads about Modi-aide Amit Shah being given the secretary’s post in UP. Saudan Singh from the Singh wants to know what Shah knows about the UP political scene. For the first time, Rajnath Singh also agreed with Saudan Singh about this. This is the reason Rajnath Singh has put the list of secretaries prepared by Ramlal, on the backburner. But it is believed that NaMo got into action after this and told Rajnath Sing that there is no one comparable to Amit Shah when it comes to election preparation and strategy and Gujarat’s election results are a proof of this. But Rajnath’s logic was Amit Shah hardly knows anything about the state’s geography and caste politics. Sources reveal that Modi told Rajnath Singh that his election budged for the 80 seats in UP is about Rs 100 crore, which will be spent by Shah. Suffering from financial troubles, what could be better news for the party and Rajnath Singh agreed. So is the same logic working behind Rajnath Singh’s decision to made Modi the chief of the party’s election committee?

Ananth Kumar could not manage to get a seat to his favourite Dhvani Sharma in the Yuva Morcha. If sources are to be believed, Ananth Kumar talked about Dhvani to Rajnath Singh himself. But when he could not adjust her in the Morcha, an upset Ananth Kumar went to Rajnath again and put his case forward. A clever Rajnath Singh ignored the topic with a laugh and quipped, “Why are you so interested in the young at this age?”

For and against Gadkari

Posted on 04 June 2013 by admin

Advani, who had recommenced the Election Coordination Committee for the forthcoming Assembly elections in four states, has suggested the name of Nitin Gadkari for the convenor. But the party President Rajnath Singh himself is taking time with regards to the formation of the committee. So, during the party’s working committee meeting in Goa on June 7-9, Advani’s group is going to press the matter of the committee. The Sangh too seems to be divided about this. While Suresh Soni is leading the group that is against Gadkari, Sangh’s chief Mohan Bhagwat’s blessings lie with Gadkari.

Congress’ veteran leader Narayan Dutt Tiwari may well have gone to Delhi on Sonia’s insistence and invitation, and he may have found a seat at the Nehru Yuva Kendra, but Tiwari is not satisfied with just that. He told Sonia that he be given a room at the Congress headquarters at 24 Akbar Road. And to ensure that his political future thrives, he should either be made the state chief minister instead of Vijay Bahuguna, or given the party ticket from Nainital for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. So now Sonia is not too keen on Tiwari ji.

2G or not 2G

So what will become of the JPC on 2G? For starters, it is a draft report, and two, the JPC’s term is set to finish in May and no one is in favour of it being renewed. So now what? If the amount of money that the nation has lost in 2G is added to the JPC members TDA, the loss will become a little more.

Rajnath is wary

Posted on 25 April 2013 by admin

The hide-and-seek game is still on between BJP and Modi. The party high command is facing a lot of pressure from the party workers to have Modi projected as the potential party nominee for the prime minister’s post. But a faction of the party members also want to maintain the status quo. Party President Rajnath Singh himself is treading softly on this. Those close to Rajnath believe that in the last term, Rajanth didn’t get along with Modi and became a puppet in the hands of D-4 (the four big leaders in Delhi) leaders. So this time, Rajnath is in full form to support Modi.

Who wants elections in November?

Posted on 25 April 2013 by admin

A big section of Congress members wants mid-term elections to be held in November. Those of the opinion even met the prime minister before his trip to Germany. They tried to tell him that based on the public surveys being conducted, the Congress can form a government in Karnataka on its own, and the BJP in the state won’t even manage 50 seats, thanks to Mr B S Yeddyurappa. Also, of the states where elections are to be held such as in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi, the Congress may stand to gain in Rajasthan, Shivraj may have the powers in Madhya Pradesh and it won’t be easy to Sheila Dixit to win the elections for the fourth time. Which means the results in these states may have an impact on elections at the Centre. Thus, these Congressmen are of the view that after the monsoon session, the Parliament be suspended and mid-term elections be held in November. But it seems 10, Janpath and Rahul Gandhi are not comfortable with the idea.
