Where does Baba’s solace lie?

Posted on 03 July 2011 by admin

A group of Congress leaders is pushing the cause of investigating the parrots who are the heart and soul of Baba. For instance, he is fond of Sahara’s Subroto Roy and is frequently seen taking the company’s chartered flights. And now that he is a proclaimed billionaire, why should there be any qualms about taking these flights? One of the builder mafia’s Sudhakar Shetty is a devotee of baba. It is said that about 20,000 people from Mumbai had come for baba’s fast from the city on Shetty’s expense. Recently, Sahara has also bought a five-star hotel at the Hyde Park area of Central London for Rs 2,000 crore and the Congress is trying to rake up the issue and investigate the deal.

What will happen to Tata?

Posted on 03 July 2011 by admin

Tata may have got a clean chit from the CBI, but the court decision is still pending. The sword is still hanging above Anil Ambani. It may be remembered that Anil’s company is allegedly under debt from a prominent Indian bank for Rs 65,000 crore.

Uma worried about the fruits of labour

Posted on 03 July 2011 by admin

When the BJP leaders went to the President for the Ramdev issue, the President broke protocol and directly addressed Advani and said, “I carefully go through the papers you send me and forward it to the concerned ministries and follow them up personally in places so that action can be taken.” Actually Advani had commented somewhere that “the President is indifferent about most issues.”

Baba was ready

Posted on 03 July 2011 by admin

Baba had come with political preparedness for the fast. He had full plans that when the fast is broken at Ramlila Grounds, he will announce the formation of a political party. He had even sent an application to the Election Commission for the logo of the party. BJP plans to have 543 nominations for the 2014 elections. Thanks to the UPA’s Chidambaram and Sibal that BJP got a shot in the arm otherwise Ramdev’s nominees would have come cracking on the party’s nominees.

But the government doesn’t want to merely frame Baba Ramdev. They also want to keep a door open for him. The central government is well aware of the fact that for now the baba is the centre of public aspirations and to mess with him would be go against public emotions. So several others are coming forward as a means of solace. Sri Sri Ravishankar’s offer of mediating may not have weightage, but the real job is being done by Mukesh Ambani, who is doing his best to get the government out of the rough patch. For this he is taking the services of his family guru Murari Bapu. It is worth noting that Murari Bapu and baba share a good bond and the former may play a big role in convincing baba. For now the government is trying all it can for baba to break his fast and is ready to make new associations for the same.

Ulfa’s uproar

Posted on 01 April 2011 by admin

The result of Assam’s elections depends in a big way on the terrorist group Ulfa. Paresh Barua’s underground Ulfa is against the Congress. According to reliable sources, Paresh is on the IAS payrolls still and is controlling the terrorist outfit in India all the way from China. The other Ulfa is Arvind Rajkhova’s and is over ground and supporting the Congress. It will be premature to say who will win the Assam elections just yet.

Varun’s rally, Sushma’s hues

Posted on 01 April 2011 by admin

The Sangh has made UP elections a matter of honour. As a result, the BJP is busy waking up its saffron cadre and as a result, the party’s dependency on the Sangh is increasing. Every district in the state is getting 35 dedicated party members who will play a significant role in the elections. Party president Gadkari has already pointed out how important the UP elections are to him. So in reply to Rahul’s Mission 2012, the party is launching firebrand Varun Gandhi. This is unusual, considering the party and Varun were going through a cool period, but Gadkari is trying to bridge that gap since the party knows that where party-organised rallies are proving to be a dud in the state, those called by Varun are garnering a lot of mileage and crowd. On April 3, Varun is organizing a rally in Bansi in Siddhartha Nagar, adjoining Gorakhpur and Basti, where Sushma Swaraj is the chief guest. Raja Bansi and Jai Pratap Singh, who are close to Varun, are working day and night to make the rally successful. Varun is out of India for the first time since he got married and is set to return to India on March 31 by the night flight of British Airways. Meanwhile, his people are set to raise him to bigger heights.

Lalu’s leanings

Posted on 01 April 2011 by admin

Wounded by Bihar elections, Lalu Prasad is again seeking Sonia’s shelter. As it is, his confidante and industrialist, former central minister and Rajya Sabha member Premchand Gupta is a frequent visitor at 10, Janpath. So it is not a coincidence if he is seen trying to talk to Sonia in the Parliament and the corridors of the building. It is said that he is trying to chart a new political career for himself but Sonia is a case of once bitten, twice shy. She has clearly told Lalu that while she has no problems being on good terms with him, it will be difficult to get his four Parliamentarians in the Cabinet. But Lalu is merely concentrating on being friends with Sonia for now.

Mamata will have to let go of Railways

Posted on 01 April 2011 by admin

It is almost sure that Trinamool Congress’ Mamata Banerjee will have a sweeping victory over West Bengal in the forthcoming elections. Even Buddhadeb Bhattacharya has conceded as much in an interview with a Malayalam newspaper interview saying that the party is ready to become the Opposition party in the state. The question now is that if Mamata didi takes over Writers’ Building, who will take her post in the Railway Bhavan? Mamata’s confidantes, everyone from Mukul Rai to Dinesh Trivedi are vying for the post. But reliable sources say that the Congress has made it clear to her that if she shifts to Bengal, she will have to let go off her hold on railways ministry. The Congress wants to manage the portfolio now. After Jaffer Shareif, no one from the party has been given the portfolio. The Congress party has in the fine print told Mamata that her party may be given three Cabinet posts in lieu of the railways ministry. In UPA 2 party rule, the Congress is gradually taking over all major portfolios – first it was surface transport, then telecom was taken from Dramuk and then civil aviation ministry. Now it’s Trinamool’s turn.
