Advani’s love for Asaram

Posted on 26 August 2013 by admin

BJP veteran leader Lal Krishna Advani’s love for Asaram Bapu is either sudden or goes back a long way because of the Sindhi connection. That is why in the personal conversations with party leaders, Advani was seen openly defending Asaram and was also heard saying that the Congress is trying to frame him. Advani believes that this is a part of the old strategies by the Congress against the Sadhu Samaj. Just after that, Uma Bharti, who is dear to Advani, gave a hurried statement defending Asaram Bapu. On the other hand, a majority of saffron leaders believe that one should let the law take its own course where the Asaram matter is concerned.

The Speaker’s decision

Posted on 26 August 2013 by admin

The Lok Sabha Speaker’s decision to suspend 12 Parliamentarians against the formation of the Telengana state until the Monsoon Session is over, is not proving to be helping the Congress. Due to this, Sonia’s dream project, that is the Food Security Bill is hanging in the middle because the BJP is not letting the Parliament function on the pretext of the Parliamentarians being suspended. Actually, the Speaker had got information that TDP Parliamentarian Shiva Prasad, who had beaten himself up with a hunter was planning to douse himself with petrol and set fire. The Speaker had to take the tough decision in the light of that information.

The common man’s President

Posted on 26 August 2013 by admin

Pranab Mukherjee may well have reached Raisin Hill, but he has kept his heart, mind and the doors of Rashtrapati Bhavan open for the average Indian. He wants to maintain his image as the common man’s President just like APJ Abdul Kalam had, in the past. A naval officer from Indian Navy, who made the journey from Goa to Mumbai wanted to organise an event in recognition of those from the Indian Navy and wanted a few brave naval officers to be rewarded for their bravery by the Navy Chief. But the offer was turned down by the Navy Chief. The sailor then approached the Vice Admiral but was turned down there, too. Then he tried connecting with the State Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, but the chief minister’s office, too, gave his busy schedule as an excuse. Then on a whim, he wrote a letter to the respected President of India, who immediately accepted the invite. Now according to the protocol, everyone from the Naval Chief to the state chief minister had to be present for the event.

Shivraj’s cap

Posted on 17 August 2013 by admin

For a one-up move over NarendraModi, Shivraj Singh Chauhan is having to bear too heavy a cost of a cap. He got a big dressing down from the top leadership of the Sangh Parivar; sources close to the Sangh said that the leaders told Shivraj in no unclear terms that he should remove himself from the Advani line when it comes to minorities. Shivraj, too, learnt his lesson and toed the line. In a hurry, he even released a statement in favour of Modi to bury the hatchet.

Thus spake Kamal

Posted on 10 August 2013 by admin

Before becoming the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Kamal Nath has handled the charge of so many loaded with funds ministries that his vocabulary and language too has become somewhat commercial. The BJP get really miffed at this and that is why all senior BJP leaders like to stay away from Kamal Nath when it comes to conversations. For instance, once the BJP was ready to support the Food Bill in the Parliament, the respected minister came out and told the media, “We have made a deal with the BJP regarding the Food Bill.”

Sushma to beat the Congress through tweets

Posted on 10 August 2013 by admin

Opposition Leader in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj wants to clear her party’s name in the uproar that it is the BJP that is now allowing the Parliament to function. Sushma has decided that she will instantly tweet and let the people know in case the workings of the House are disrupted, why they were disrupted and who was at fault. The minute the Parliament was adjourned on Thursday, Sushma tweeted, “The Lok Sabha has been adjourned because Cong (sic) members were constantly disrupting the proceedings.” On Wednesday, Sushma asked in her tweet, “Who disrupts the Parliament?” On Monday, as soon as the Monsoon Session of the Parliament started, Sushma’s tweet was, “Lok Sabha could not transact any business because Congress MPs from Andhra disrupted the proceedings.” This goes on to show how Sushma has learnt to use her Twitter handle as the biggest weapon to express herself.

Diamond-encrusted Socialism

Posted on 10 August 2013 by admin

A big diamond jewellery showroom had to wrap up its operations. Because the showroom was shutting down, the owner offered heavy discounts on the jewellery to some of the chosen customers. They were sent SMS messages and informed about the same. One of the customers was the wife of the young chief minister of a prominent state in the north. As soon as she got the text message, the chief minister’s wife reached Mumbai with a few confidantes. The owner of the showroom welcomed her into the showroom and said, “Madam, please set aside the pieces that you like and I will have them packed.” Madam smiled and said, “Please pack all of them and let me know how much the entire thing will cost; you will be paid.” It seems as if Lohia’s socialism has lost everything on the threshold of the nouveau riche.

Amar in a new avatar

Posted on 05 August 2013 by admin

Amar Singh is ready to come forward in his new political avatar. In the past few days, his closeness with Sonia and Rahul has increased. Diggy Raja has a big role to play in Amar’s closeness to the Gandhi family. This means that after the Lok Sabha elections, in the post-poll alliance days with regional parties, Amar Singh may play a significant role. Amar is good friends with local satraps such as Mamata Banerjee, Jayalalithaa, Karunanidhi and Navin Patnaik. So, after elections, he may bring these regional parties on the Congress side. In the past, when Amar Singh was ready to come back after his treatment in a private hospital in Dubai, his old friend Anil Ambani sent his special private chartered plane to Dubai to bring Amar Singh back to Delhi. But instead of Ambani’s plane, Amar Singh had returned on the plane of one his sheikh friends. When we was in Dubai, Sonia Gandhi called him up and asked him how he was doing.
