“The last time I met him along with Anand Sharma and Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Rahul said to his assistant – ‘Get Ghulam Nabi a cup of tea’ Madam, we are people of old culture, we are not used to hearing that. You also address me as Azad Saheb,” he said.

Ghulam Nabi Azad has sent a 5-page letter to Congress President Sonia Gandhi announcing his resignation from the primary membership. In this letter, he has directly blamed Rahul Gandhi for the current condition of the Congress. Interestingly, in this letter, Sanjay Gandhi is mentioned more than Rajiv Gandhi. He said that he was influenced by the ideas of Gandhi, Nehru, Patel, Bose and Abul Kalam Azad from student life and took over the chairmanship of the Jammu and Kashmir Youth Congress in 1975-76 after Sanjay Gandhi asked him for this.

“I became the President of Youth Congress in 1980 after the tragic death of Sanjay Gandhi,” he said. Azad has questioned the Congress leadership at a time when the Congress is busy preparing for the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’.
