The apple of Paswan family’s eye

Posted on 14 December 2013 by admin

Lok Janshakti Party’s leader Ram Vilas Paswan is making a lot of effort to hand over his political legacy to his son Chirag Paswan. The young Paswan is ready to leave his film journey mid-way only so that he can bring his father’s political career to a high point from the lows it is seeing at present. So in a way, all decisions of the Lok Janshakti Party are being taken by Chirag. He wants to break away from his father’s Dalit politics to one that focuses on the youth. That is because he knows that more than 58 per cent of Bihar’s voters fall in that category. He has even decided to give the political campaign for the Lok Janshakti Party a new look and new dimension. He has become a part of a handful of politicians from Bihar who are extremely active on social networking sites. He is also a good friend of Rahul Gandhi and wants JD-U, Congress and Lok Janshkati Party to have a political understanding in Bihar. He has held several rallies in Bihar and attracts a huge crowd. Thus, the common thing in Bihar’s politics from both Lalu and Ram Vilas is that they want their young sons to don the political mantle – Lalu wants to encourage his son Tejaswi and Ram Vilas Chirag. Will this really lead to a politics that can rise above narrow-minded, divisive casteism?

Lalu love from the BJP people

Posted on 05 November 2013 by admin

The BJP has got a new ally in the form of Lalu Yadav who is languishing in the Ranchi prison. The news is that if people like Maulana Mulayam can match step with that of the BJP, why will Lalu have any qualms about talking to the saffron party? This is the reason no less than 400-500 people come to meet Lalu everyday and a majority of them are BJP members. The jail manual may as well be locked up – Lalu’s political darbar is a sight to see in prison. Prominent BJP members such as Shatrughn Sinha and Saryu Rai are coming out and supporting Lalu and giving bytes about it. Jharkhand’s senior BJP leader Saryu Rai, who once couldn’t see eye-to-eye with Lalu and would criticise him at every given chance, is now writing articles for magazines and newspapers in praise of an in support of Lalu. With Lalu’s lantern see saffron just yet?

Didn’t recognised neither Shah Rukh, nor Sachin

Posted on 26 August 2013 by admin

At 92, Dilip Kumar now has started to forget people’s faces. At his home in Mannat, Shah Rukh Khan had Dilip and Saira sit away in his special dining room and fed Dilip Sahab with his own hands. But the sad part was that Yusuf Sahab recognised neither Shah Rukh, not Sachin who was present there. The party was in celebration of AbRam’s birth but apart from three guests, everyone saw him inside a glass incubator. Shah Rukh brought his son out only for Amitabh Bachchan, Mukesh Ambani and Rajiv Shukla.

Chiranjeevi’s wish list

Posted on 28 August 2012 by admin

Superstar and Rajya Sabha member Chiranjeevi, who has recently joined the Congress, met Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi and had some serious discussions about the political situation in Andhra Pradesh. In the meeting that lasted about half-an-hour, Chiranjeevi didn’t forget to mention to Sonia that the Reddy community in the state, which was once Congress’ vote bank, has now sided with Jagmohan Reddy in the changing scenario. Thus, unless the Kapu community doesn’t get prominent posts and responsibilities in the government, the community will not quite trust the Congress. It is quite likely then, that in the next Cabinet reshuffle, this Kapu leader Chiranjeevi may get a coveted post in Manmohan’s ministry.

Sibal’s mistakes

Posted on 09 July 2012 by admin

On the outset, Kapil Sibal had gone to Kollkata to ask support from Mamata Banerjee for Pranab Mukherjee’s name as President. But the surprising thing is that for as long as Sibal spoke to Mamata, he didn’t mention support for dada even once. Sources reveal that he was more taken with proposals for his ministry. That is why he spoke about the Accreditation Bill the most. It is worth mentioning here that this is the same bill that proposes that all universities be brought under the grading system. Thus, after this bill is passed, all universities will get a ranking. Then there is the fees regulation bill under which all schools, colleges and universities are free to decide their own fees structure. But they will have to make all information public on their websites. And if even a rupee more is spent more than the decided fees, the government will consider it as capitation fees.

King Khan ko gussa kyon aata hai?

Posted on 21 May 2012 by admin

King Khan, who is a great friend of Central Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajiv Shukla, flares up easily nowadays. He is miffed that his staunch rival Aamir Khan’s TV show “Satyamev Jayate” is a hit, while he couldn’t even succeed with “Paanchvi Paas. He is angry that his closest friend in Bollywood Karan Johar is not on talking terms with him for the past four months (Despite that Johar supported Shah Rukh on Twitter). Shah Rukh is angry that because of Priyanka Chopra, his relations with his wife Gouri Khan have become strained. And now even his home Mannat doesn’t seem welcoming to him. King Khan is angry that Arjun Rampal, whom he picked up from the ground and helped him reach for the skies, deserted him at the time when he needed him. Now all Shah Rukh has to turn to is Rajiv Shukla, a sharp player in politics. But there’s nothing much he can do because he is divided between two friends – on the one hand there’s Nita bhabhi (the whole controversy erupted after Nita Ambani’s Mumbai Indians lost the match) and there is Shah Rukh bhaiya on the other hand, and Shukla ji doesn’t want a trivial issue to create a rift between him and Ambani family. So he is treading carefully and wants to get even with Vilas Rao Deshmukh with Shah Rukh as an excuse.

The hand’s strength

Posted on 13 May 2012 by admin

The Congress in Uttarkhand wants to kill two birds with one stone. It is believed that the party managers have made it clear to Vijay Bahuguna that instead of winning a seat from a by-election by having a party Assembly member to resign, he should try his tactics with a BJP Assembly member and weave his magic on him so that the person vacates his seat. The BJP and Congress stand almost neck-to-neck where the numbers in Assembly are concerned. Learning from Karnataka (where the chief minister from BJP lost the Assembly polls), the Congress doesn’t want to be in the same situation. In any case, Narendra Nagar Assembly member Subodh Uniyal, Vijay Pal Singh Sajwan from Gangotri and Anusuya Das Mekhuri from Karnaprayag are ready to ask for Bahuguna’s resignation. But the Congress is eyeing the seats of BJP leaders such as Sahdev Singh Pundir from Sahaspur and Rajesh Shukla from Kichha and the election game will start as soon as the circular is passed. It remains to be seen if the hand will crush the lotus.

Rajya Sabha for the General

Posted on 07 May 2012 by admin

Mulayam Singh Yadav is going to play a big trick in the days to come. Reliable sources close to him have revealed that Netaji has assured Army Chief V K Singh that the SP will get him into the Rajya Sabha after his retirement. It is worth mentioning here that the BJP has already shown its inclination to have Singh contest the next Lok Sabha elections from Bhiwani in Haryana. Now the General has to choose from the two parties. The reality is that both parties want to cash-in on the General’s clean image. The SP is even looking at the whole thing from caste-tinted glasses. Netaji and his associates feel that it will do the party good to have General Singh into the Rajya Sabha and send out a positive signal to the Rajputs in UP who are 8.5 to 9 per cent of the total population.
