Who knows what his thoughts are worth? Who knows what he really wants? But then it is the orders from the echelons of power and you have to heed to them with your head bowed – be it Rs 36 or Rs 26, we will have to content ourselves with it and try to douse the hunger pangs. Don’t dare question if it is possible, while they still manage to make light of Rs one lakh crore and even more. So for now Chidambaram will be saved, the Prime Minister who is in New York and the Rajmata in Delhi want it so. And who dare harm him when on September 16, on his birthday, posters of Chidambaram were pasted all over Chennai, depicting him as Krishna, albeit a bald one! He is also being touted as the future prime minister. And how long can one keep hoping against hope. When the Opposition attacks subside, the allegations on Chidambaram will vanish, and at such a time, he will be asked to beat it, never to return.

Maya may have trashed Wikileaks information has hogwash, but the spy network against those officers and politicians has become stronger who have an answerability in Maya’s court. After Karnataka and Uttrakhand, is Himachal next? The BJP is in a hurry for an image makeover and is not taking time in replacing its tainted chief ministers. In such a scenario, Dhumal and his son’s deeds and misdemeanors aren’t hidden from anyone. Under Shanta Kumar’s leadership, a small group of Dhumal opposing leaders met Gadkari but Gadkari didn’t see too much opposition in them. So he only told the dissatisfied group that if not the chief minister, the state party president would be of their choice. But it is heard that seeing the change of baton in Uttrakhand, Shanta Kumar is preparing to put his point across more strongly.

Congress’ corridors are still trying to figure out the answer to the moot question that how much more will Sandeep Dixit run the party to the ground? While talking about the Anna issue in the Parliament, he forgot to mention Rahul Gandhi and his speech from a day ago. In some matters, he is also called the de facto CM of Delhi because not only does he keep track of people’s wellness schemes but also plays a big part in giving out funds for the schemes for the NGOs. He came in contact with Arvind Kejrival and Kiran Bedi because of such schemes. It is also said that he also gets along with several anti-Sonia leaders in the BJP. The newest development is regarding the suitcase full of currency notes on the Bhopal Express. Dixit says that although the suitcase was in his AC first-class coupe, it belonged to his friend Mathur. The question now is that if Mathur is really such good friend with Dixit, then why was he traveling in the same train as Dixit’s attendant in the second AC compartment? Does this money have to do anything with the Commonwealth Games? Dixit has close ties with Bhopal, since he has his NGO there, and it is also believed that he has invested in property in and around Bhopal last year. So in a country where crores crave for a small piece of roti everyday, how does it matter if a public representative or his friend’s bag is discovered stuffed with money?

Once called an old-age home, the Planning Commission is all set to change its look and feel. This is a sign that in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Congress will enter the arena under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership. And since the Planning Commission is working on its 12th Five Year Plan (2012-17) and wants to incorporate youth’s ambitions and sentiments and make them more real, the Yojana Bhavan has recruited young people between 20-30 years of age as consultants. Not only has the plan got a sanction from the Planning Commission’s Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia, but the State Planning Minister Ashwini Kumar can be seen being proactive and generous with the plan. So much so that the Yojana Bhavan now even has a special parking space with a board that says: Only for young professionals.
