She is the wife of the country’s richest Indian. She recently bought crockery for her household – 25,000 pieces. Her favourite is a Japanese brand called Noritek, from a 105-year-old company, which makes gold and platinum plated porcelain. It has a showroom in Kemps Corner in Mumbai, which is a stone’s throw away from her current residence. But she bought the crockery from Sri Lanka, where she got upto 75-80 per cent discount. That means the Ambai family looks for discounts – from electricity to crockery. It may be surprising for some but not for those who know how Gujaratis don’t like to waste money. So what if the person in India’s richest India?
