Who is behind Singhdeo’s rebellion?

The Bhupesh Baghel government of Chhattisgarh has also now come under the BJP’s target. After a year and a half from now, assembly elections are to be held in Chhattisgarh, in which Baghel is dreaming of returning to power on the basis of his works. But only his old friends are involved in destabilizing his government. Once the pair of Baghel and Singhdeo was called ‘Jai-Veeru’ in Chhattisgarh. Three and a half years ago, when the Congress government came to power in Chhattisgarh, there was an agreement between TS Singhdeo and Bhupesh Baghel for the post of CM for two and a half years. But when Singhdeo’s turn came, political circumstances snatched this opportunity from his hands. An angry Singhdeo has issued a four-page letter and announced that he will quit his ministerial post. Baghel had claimed that no MLA of Chhattisgarh Congress would cross-vote in this presidential election, but in support of Draupadi Murmu, six of his MLAs did cross-voting, which is the beginning of rebellion under Singhdeo’s leadership. Sensing the urgency of the occasion, the BJP has brought a no-confidence motion against the Baghel government, which is to be discussed on July 27. In the present assembly of Chhattisgarh, Congress has 71 MLAs, BJP has 14, Janata Congress Chhattisgarh has 3 and BSP has 2 MLAs. In this sense also, Baghel’s chair does not see any danger at the moment.
