Being Shah Rukh

Posted on 22 April 2010 by admin

Few people would know that apart from Hindi, English and Urdu, Shah Rukh also knows Sanskrit. Shah Rukh worked for several years with the Rajinder Nagar Ramlila group in Delhi. Shah Rukh wants that his
children, a boy and a girl, who at present are studying in Neeta Ambani’s school, should also excel in learning Sanskrit. So he and Gauri are these days looking for a Sanskrit teacher for their children. Even otherwise Shah Rukh’s father was an old time Congress person and he was also OSD to the erstwhile Irrigation Minister in the
Indira Gandhi cabinet. Shah Rukh’s mother was also counted among those close to Indira. Not only did Indira make her a magistrate during her rule, but she also got her allotted an oil depot. Shah Rukh’s late father had come to India from Peshawar, and his in-laws also have a Pakistan connection, his mother-in-law Champa Tiwari is a Pandit from
Faisalabad. But though Shah Rukh has received no matter how many invitations from Pakistan, he has never turned that way. Perhaps this is why he has remained the Shah Rukh that he is.

Price of love

Much more apt at playing with hearts than playing tennis, Sania is these days hogging the headlines for a wrong reason. Before getting into a relationship with Pakistanti cricketer Shoaib Malik, Sania had been involved in several relationships – from Sohrab and Shahid to Shoaib and her latest decision has given rise to a political controversy. It is without doubt Shiv Sena which is raising the question of Sania’s loyalty towards her soil. And whether it is BJP that often adorns a studied silence or the Congress which appears to be making noises in Sania’s favour, they all have their own
calculations or profits or loss. But it is possible that Sania may have to pay a big price for becoming a Pakistani bride. Her fate could be similar to that of Tiger Woods, who lost endorsements worth
billions of rupees after his name got dragged into controversies. Sania is also the brand ambassador of several big Indian and foreign companies such as Tata, Adidas and the like. Sources tell us that in
this era of image marketing, once Sania would head to Pakistan, she too would lose endorsements worth crores. Listen carefully, Mian Shoaib.

Sadhvi’s homecoming

Posted on 16 April 2010 by admin

Advani himself has become active to ensure the completion of the process of return of sadhvi Uma Bharti to the party. And why only Advani, even Gurumurthi has got involved in this monumental task that not only Uma but even Govindacharya returns to th party after a long hiatus. For the likes of Kalyan Singh and Subramaniam Swamy too the saffron party has kept the doors of its heart open. It is a now or never situation, having understood this Uma wants to make no mistake this time; she is therefore treading cautiously. But the biggest challenge before Advani is to make Shivraj Singh Chauhan see reason. Shivraj’s “Uma phobia’’ has still not diminished. So Shivraj who is caught in the passion of position is being made to understand that Uma’s journey from Delhi would not extend beyond Jhansi. The party is thinking of drawing some lines around Uma’s politics. She would have
to confine her area of work to between Ghaziabad and Gorakhpur, and as for Madhya Pradesh, she would be able to see it in the maps only. For the time being, Uma is agreeable to all these conditions set by the party that she would only engage in the politics of Uttar Pradesh. BJP’s real intention is to pit a backward’s daughter, Uma, against a Dalit’s daughter, Mayawati. No doubt, the challenges before the sadhvi are big. But in the past too the sadhvi has taken on such challenges quite successfully.

Lawyer by profession, Arun Jaitley is also an excellent political doctor. Now take the matter of Mian Shahnawaz. When the outline of the new team of Gadkari was prepared, Shahnawaz’s name was in the list of the general secretaries. But at the eleventh hour, who knows what dose Vijay Goel gave to the president that Shahnawaz’s name was cut and in his place Goel was taken into the team. Annoyed with the developments, an angry Shahnawaz got himself admitted in Delhi’s Batra Hospital. No matter how he may have liked talking, but he was not satisfied with remaining a mere party spokesperson. As such, Jaitley got in touch with the hospital administration and procured Shahnawaz’s complete medical report. Evidently, there was no mention of any ailment in it. So Jaitley called up Shahnawaz and said – `Mian, give up your anger and take what you get … or else nothing can be taken for granted in the party these days …’ So on his return, Shahnawaz was seen in the
new role of party spokesperson.

Busy fighting hard times and various problems, Behnji has now got down to constituting a new team of loyalists. A lot of old faces can go out of her team. Satish Mishra has already been sent to the altar because recently 142 advocate friends of Mishra have been removed from the
State panel. His nearly three dozen people are still occupying big constitutional posts but they too are not escaping the prying eyes of Behnji and their marching orders are also being prepared at a rapid pace. But Mishra does not seem too perturbed because both BJP and
Congress are just waiting to lap him up.

A saree affair

Posted on 04 April 2010 by admin

There is no parallel to Gadkari in narrating an incident like a true narrative. When designer and a find of India from Pramod Mahajan’s stable Shaina N.C. went to meet him, Gadkari began talking about a self help group of his. Gadkari told Shaina that in this organisation
it is the women who make the sarees. Without wasting the opportunity, N.C. immediately offered to design these sarees now. When the matter reached the ears of former dream girl Hema Malini, she expressed her desire to walk the ramp in these designer sarees and in Vani Tripathi, these sarees also got a big buyer. It is said that Vani used to now and then visit the Mumbai office of BJP in such sarees and look at the coincidence that all these madams have got a place in Gadkari’s team. Laud the saree management of this management guru.

Security at a price

Posted on 29 March 2010 by admin

India’s premier intelligence agency IB is about to get a new boss. A native of Bihar and a Himachal cadre officer Ajit Lal could be the next Director of IB. The biggest challenge before him would be to improve the deteriorating image of IB. For quite some time now it has been an open game of opportunism in IB. It is understood that there is a lot of problem in IB over VIP security and through the nefarious practise of give and take with the IB officers, several small timers are availing VIP security. Now it is known to all that such leaders and politicians get the reports of their choice made by greasing the palms of the IB officers and on the basis of these reports get Government security. Recently when the Government withdrew the Z plus
security of a big shot who is associated with Punjab, that person challenged the order of the Government in a court. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the court also issued a “stay’’ in this matter. The matter was still pending in court that an officer of IB contacted this big shot and asked him for a price of his choice and said that if he would pay this amount then his Z plus security would be restored. Sources tell us that ever since a woman IPS officer has taken up an important post in IB, there has been a flood of such instances.

Handling too many rivals

Posted on 29 March 2010 by admin

Bihar Assembly elections are drawing close, but the infighting in Congress is still on. Bihar Congress president Anil Sharma and State in-charge Jagdish Tytler used to get along well once but today they cannot even see eye to eye. Both these leaders are camping in Delhi and are emptying their coffers of allegations and counter-allegations before the high command. It is understood that that the duo of Pappu Yadav and Ranjita Ranjan, which had sounded the bugle of revolt against Anil Sharma, had the blessings of Tytler with them. And to lodge their protest against Anil Sharma, Shakil Ahmed, Mohammad Keshar
and Shammi Ujjan of the minority community, Dalit leader Ashok Ram, Sanjiv Toni, Yadav leaders Pappu and Ranjita, Sadhu Yadav, Hind Kesri Yadav, Sheel Yadav, Brahmin leaders Vijay Shanker Dubey, Kumud Jha, Thakur leaders Dhanraj Singh, Shyama Sinha, Lovely Anand, leader of Bhoomihars Mahachandra Singh and Ramjatan Sinha have all come together. So, Anil Sharma’s departure is being considered almost certain and it is also possible that as soon as Sharma leaves Bihar
Congress may get a new in-charge too.

Saffron support for women

Posted on 29 March 2010 by admin

Senior saffron leaders have played a key role in giving the pro-woman look, voice and image to Nitin Gadkari’s new team. For example, the recommendation of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi came in handy for Ranjana Sahi and Anandi Ben Patel. For Soorma Pahadi, who was once considered close to late Pyare Lal Khandelwal and Bangaru Laxman, the maximum lobbying was done by V. Satish. Venkaiah Naidu pressed hard for Kiran Maheshwari and the president himself was keen on Vani Tripathi. Saroj Pandey was recommended by Saudan Singh and everyone knows that the reason why the name of Premlata Katiyar of UP BJP Mahila Morcha got cut was because Ramlal was paving the path for Sadhvi Niranjana.

Big Ambani’s worry

Posted on 29 March 2010 by admin

Once, the writ of elder Ambani brother Mukesh used to run in the Congress and every work of his used to get done and this is what troubled the younger Ambani each day. But in order to keep pace with the changing political scenario, the younger Ambani also changed his colours so well that he got really thick with Chidambaram and they both began meeting in a hotel situated on Lodhi Road almost regularly. This issue has been perturbing the elder brother and he is already quite worried about what he should do with the expected profit of Rs 31,000 crores that Reliance is expected to make this financial year? So it is quite possible that in the days to come Mukeh may expand his empire by taking it across the geographical boundaries of India as well.
