Pranab da may have bid adieu to active politics, but his children’s political ambitions know no bounds. His son Abhijeet has proved his political prowess as an Assembly member and now as a member of Parliament after winning a seat from Jangipur constituency. But he had to work really hard for this seat from Jangipur and he just about managed to get the seat with a win of barely 2,500 votes more than his opponent. Where Pranab da is concerned, he considers his daughter to be more political than his son but he had to give way to his son’s political ambition. Now his daughter wants to contest the elections from the Nalhati constituency, which has been left vacant by his brother. So alluding to political rules, Pranab da said that two members of the same family should not be in politics.
