प्रवीण सिंह ऐरन, यह नाम तो सुना होगा आपने, नारायण दत्त तिवारी के खास भरोसेमंदों में शुमार होने वाले ऐरन ने तब खासी सियासी सुर्खियां बटोरी थीं जब उन्होंने 2009 के आम चुनाव में बरेली से संतोष गंगवार जैसे भाजपा हैवीवेट को चित्त कर दिया था। ऐरन को कांग्रेस महासचिव प्रियंका गांधी के भी काफी करीबी माना जाता है, वे प्रियंका के सलाहकार मंडल के भी एक चमकते नक्षत्र हैं। यूपी में जब 7 सीटों पर उप चुनाव हो रहे थे तब प्रियंका ने इनमें से एक सीट की जिम्मेदारी ऐरन को सौंपी थी, पर इत्तफाक से उस कांग्रेसी उम्मीदवार की जमानत जब्त हो गई। यूपी में कांग्रेस का किला जिस तरह से दरक रहा है उसे देखते हुए व्यवहार कुशल ऐरन ने भाजपा के साथ अपनी नजदीकियां बढ़ानी शुरू कर दी हैं, सूत्र तो यहां तक दावा करते हैं कि पिछले दिनों स्वयं संतोष गंगवार ऐरन को अमित शाह से मिलवाने ले गए थे। सूत्र खुलासा करते हैं कि ऐरन अपनी पत्नी सुप्रिया ऐरन, जो कि पूर्व में बरेली की मेयर भी रह चुकी हैं, इनके लिए 2022 विधानसभा चुनाव में भाजपा के निशान पर बरेली कैंट की सीट चाहते हैं। बरेली कैंट की सीट पर भाजपा का काफी असर है। ऐरन को सुर्खियों की सवारी गांठना हमेशा से पसंद रहा है। वे तब भी चर्चा में आए थे जब जवाहर लाल नेहरू यूथ सेंटर को नोएडा में आबंटित जमीन पर उन्होंने अपना ‘नेहरू इंटरनेशनल पब्लिक स्कूल’ खोल दिया। वैसे भी इनकी पत्नी सुप्रिया ऐरन जवाहर लाल नेहरू यूथ सेंटर की महासचिव हैं, सनद रहे कि यह वही केंद्र है जिसके सी सुब्रह्मण्यम फाउंडिंग प्रेसिडेंट रहे हैं।
