The Last Minute Goof-up In J&K!

December 10 2018

Sajjad Lone failed, in the very last minute, to form a government in Jammu and Kashmir with the support of BJP. But how? Let’s take you behind the scenes —
Ram Madhav was the strategist breathing air into Sajjad Lone’s ambitions. It was a divide and rule plan where Lone was to break apart the 18 MLAs of PDP and then form a government with BJP’s support. A good amount of money was pumped on this entire campaign.
The birds whisper that BJP President Amit Shah did not endorse these thoughts of Ram Madhav. While Ram Madhav had the blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi directly, Amit Shah held his own opinion about this. Shah believed that joining hands with Sajjad Lone will bring no good to the BJP in Jammu and Kashmir, and so he thought it better than the BJP forms a government with the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference of which the PDP MLAs can also become a part.
Shah’s argument was that the NC has been an old ally of the NDA, and the BJP’s relationship with Farooq and Omar Abdullah were on the much higher side than Lone’s.
Amid all this, neither Lone nor Omar got the opportunity, rather taking advantage of the entire hotchpotch Mehbooba and Congress started doing their own math.
So hurriedly a President’s rule was imposed in the state and it was decided that the J&K polls will take place alongside the Lok Sabha elections.
