Last week, Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma rung up Hemant Biswa with reference to Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016. Sarma is Assam’s Deputy CM as well as North East Democratic Alliance’s coordinator. Conrad said that he is withdrawing his consent from this controversial Bill. Not only Sangma, 10 other parties, big and small, are against this citizenship bill.
When parties like Sikkim Democratic Front, PPP and NDF withdrew their consent, Sarma hurriedly dialled Amit Shah in Delhi to inform him about it.
The cuckoos coo that Sarma was told that if these parties withdraw consents, all of their governments will fall, and so he shouldn’t follow in their footsteps. It was added that they wanted to give a message to the Mamata government, which they have given.
