Nitish’s Plan-B

February 12 2019

Nitish Kumar’s ‘Plan B’ is all set. The plan has been prepped by Nitish’s trusted Prashant Kishor.
Actually, Nitish wants to get the best of both worlds. He plans to stick with the BJP only for a few more months post the Lok Sabha polls, and then part ways right ahead of the state assembly election in 2020. He wants to go ahead and contest the state polls on all seats or in some sort of arrangement with the Congress.
You may recall, that JD(U) had contested on all the seats in the 2014 state assembly polls but could bag only two of them. On the other hand, when Nitish contested the 2009 polls in alliance with BJP, then JD(U) trumped 20 out of the 25 seats in their share whilst the BJP bagged 12/15.
Now the BJP and JD(U) are contesting on 17 seats each. Nitish is hopeful JD(U) will be able to set its base through these seats and make an image of itself by parting from BJP.
