Multitalented Biplab

Posted on 26 March 2018 by admin

A journey similar to that of Anil Baluni, from zero to hero, is of Tripura’s newly crowned CM Biplab Deb, who had come all the way from Tripura to Delhi for his education. Here in Delhi, he came across BJP MP from Satna – Ganesh Singh. The soft-spoken and multitalented Biplab impressed Singh, so much so that this BJP leader appointed Biplab as his assistant.
As mentioned earlier, Biplab’s talents were multi-dimensional of which one was his driving skills. So he not only efficiently steered Singh’s car but also his political career. He formed a core group in Delhi to which prominent journalists, academicians, etc. were associated. These veterans were shouldered with the responsibility of deciding on the questions to be tabled by Singh, who is consecutively three-term MP from Madhya Pradesh’s Satna currently, in the Parliament.
After this Biplab came across RSS ideologist and Modi’s near and dear Sunil Deodhar, who later took him under his wing for BJP’s ‘Mission Tripura’ and from here onward, Biplab’s stars touched a new high.

Non-digital ministries of Digital India

Experience mining minister of the Modi govt, Narendra Singh Tomar, is struggling with his delivery & performance. Perhaps this is the reason why the government has tampered with his portfolio multiple times.
Anyhow, in his attempts to up the game, Tomar is being seen, of late, very proactive in the functioning of his ministry. In the recent past, his ministry organised a ‘Sand Mining Framework Conclave’ in Delhi. It was a unique experiment of its kind in which representatives of different states participated. Bureaucrats and various sand mining companies also joined-in. As soon as the conclave ended, many officers and others sought a copy of this framework from the organisers. The person who was responsible for the distribution of these copies said that a person, who claimed to be a ministry personnel, took away the stack and now he is left with only 10 of them. On this, the people then asked for its digital or soft copy on their e-mails. Sources reveal that no digital copy was prepared by the ministry.
Our Prime Minister wants to take the country into a new digital era, but what should he do with his own cabinet colleagues?

BJP’s rookie mistake

Posted on 26 March 2018 by admin

Ever since AAP’s Sanjay Singh has set-foot in the Upper House, he is giving the ruling party a hard time with all his hyperactivity. When asked which parliamentary committee would he prefer being a part of as an MP, Singh put forth his three choices. His first priority was the Urban Development Ministry, the second being Home Ministry and the third was the Ministry of Mines and Steels.
The BJP policymakers thought that sealing-drive issue is at its peak in Delhi, so Sanjay Singh will be busy dealing with the state government on the issue. Thus, at the behest of Venkaiah Naidu, he was sent to the mining ministry.
Now the BJP was unaware that Sanjay Singh was a mining engineer. Now this AAP MP is busy preparing all the possible cross-questions related to mining rules to which the saffron-torch bearers will have to find the answers.
In the latest, Sanjay has pulled out the expansion plan of public sector giant ‘Sail’. It is believed that of the allocated amount of Rs 78 thousand crores, Rs 74 thousand crores has already been disbursed, but its production has registered a

Prasad’s controversial politics

Posted on 26 March 2018 by admin

The IT and Law Minister of the Modi government, Ravi Shankar Prasad, often is on the target of the Opposition due to his derogatory statements. Whilst gradually being grilled in the flame of the Mehul Choksi episode, the case of the Facebook data breach by British data analysis company Cambridge Analytica was brought into the light. In the same case, Prasad’s yet another derogatory statement made headlines when he said that he would take the strictest of actions against those who violated the rules under the IT Act and also, if need be, summon Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.
On this, the Opposition found a new way to target Prasad. Amateur politician Tejaswi Yadav took to Twitter and attacked Prasad by tweeting: “Stop all these ‘nautankies’ (drama) and first find a solution to the ‘call-drop’ crisis of India.”
And even when the government issued a mere six-questions notice to Cambridge Analytica (whom Prasad referred to as ‘rogue’), there was no big question related to Mark Zuckerberg. Also, the company has been given time till March 31 to answer these questions. Then, when the Opposition pointed fingers on these questions, the justification was given by Prasad’s ministry that since Mark Zuckerberg has already apologised, it is not right to unnecessarily heave the issue further.

All is not well

Posted on 26 March 2018 by admin

All is not well with AAP. There was a time when AAP leaders Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh and Ashutosh used to hold meetings till late night, watch movies together. But after the Rajya Sabha elections, Sanjay Singh and Ashutosh seem upset with Kejriwal. Now the meetings put on halt and the conversations are also on mute. Sanjay is devoting most of his time to Rajya Sabha works, and Ashutosh has resumed with his readings and writings. Both the leaders have one common complaint with Kejriwal that “Kejriwal talks of moral politics but when it comes to Rajya Sabha, he gives importance to some Sushil Gupta. What kind of a paradox is this?”

Jaya Bachchan’s stardom attracts all

Posted on 26 March 2018 by admin

In the recent Rajya Sabha elections, where many political veterans like Rajiv Shukla and Ram Madhav were deprived of the Upper House, Jaya Bachchan’s stardom remained on the top of its game. Mamata Banerjee’s TMC had kept its fourth seat vacant for Jaya until the last moment. While Mamata wanted to play Jaya’s Bengali-charm card, on the other hand, SP did not want to lose their crucial MP. Prior to the final announcement of the tickets, ‘Didi’ talked to both Mulayam and Akhilesh to have confirmation on whether they are giving the seat to Jaya Bachchan? Only after receiving the concrete assurance from both father and son, Didi concluded the climax over the party’s fourth seat.

Kejriwal’s so-sorry

Posted on 26 March 2018 by admin

Ever since the Delhi High Court has given the clean chit to the 20 alleged ‘office-of-profit’ holding AAP MLAs, party head and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has emerged as an ‘icon of humanity’. Leaving behind all the differences, he has switched on his ‘sorry’ mode. And the story behind this sudden switch of nature is very interesting.

The beginning point of this transformation traces back to the recent past where a lawsuit was filed against Kejriwal in Punjab with regard to Majithia’s case and a date was scheduled for its hearing. Following this, Kejriwal rung up the Punjab AAP legislator Sukhpal Khaira to look into the matter and arrange a lawyer for his representation as his busy schedule wouldn’t permit him to be there. So Khaira made the required arrangements and a lawyer was sent to advocate Kejriwal in the case. After two hearings, a bill was received at Kejriwal’s end with a summation of Rs 6 lakh, seeing which the Delhi CM went into dizzy, at least that is what the sources tell.

Appalled at the huge bill, Kejriwal once again rung up Khaira – this time to inquire about the skyrocket fee of the lawyer. On this Khaira replied that the concerned lawyer’s actual fee is Rs 5 lakh per hearing, which he reduced by Rs 2 lakh exclusively, given Khaira’s reference.

Kejriwal was taken aback. He said, “I don’t have this kind of money that I can spend Rs 3 lakh a hearing. There are hundreds of such cases against me in courts, from where will I bring such huge amount? If it is a matter of mere my pride, I will apologise. It will not hurt the party in any way.”

So it was. Thus Kejriwal, from here onward, on-boarded the ‘sorry train’ on which his next stop, seemingly, is Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. He is confident that Jaitley will be the bigger man here and forgive him.

Baluni bestowed by Modi

Posted on 26 March 2018 by admin

The result of the latest Rajya Sabha polls has reignited the spark in the ‘saffron-camp’. But only a few are aware that there were only a few such candidates from the camp who were bestowed upon by Modi. Otherwise who could have imagined an unknown face like Anil Baluni from Uttarakhand not only racing up against BJP veteran Ram Madhav but also defeat him to score a position in the Upper House.
Looking into the history of this new mystery we come to know that Baluni was once a stringer to meagre newspapers like Kuber Times and JVG Times. With time, both the newspapers shut down and thus Baluni began gravitating around BJP and RSS’ Delhi offices. This way he acquainted Sunder Singh Bhandari.
When Bhandari became the governor of Gujarat, he made Baluni his OSD. This was sometime around 2001. It was the same phase when Modi took over the throne of Gujarat as its CM. Baluni then became the medium of communication between Modi and Bhandari. Unfortunately, Bhandari passed away and a grieved Baluni reached Modi.
Modi then appointed Baluni as the spokesperson of Uttarakhand BJP. When Modi came to power at Centre, Baluni too emerged as the national spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Modi never forgets his trusted aides and as a testimony to that, Baluni was obliged with Rajya Sabha.

The ticket politics of BJP

Posted on 19 March 2018 by admin

For the first time in the history of BJP, it so happened that for the Lok Sabha by polls and Rajya Sabha tickets neither the meeting of the Parliamentary Board was convened nor was there a need felt to convene the meeting of the election committee, not even for name sake. For UP’s by-elections, both the names were finalised by the Party President and Sunil Bansal. The name of Pradeep Singh for the Araria constituency in Bihar faced the major opposition from the Araria BJP unit itself. The Araria seat went for polls after the demise of the RJD MP Taslimuddin. Sources say that Pradip Singh once used to speak in favour of the same Taslimuddin and was among his close aides. State deputy chief minister Sushil Modi had a special interest and the most important role in awarding ticket to Pradeep Singh. As of the Rajya Sabha tickets, the Modi-Shah duo finalised it all on their own.

Sonia’s gift to Rajni

Posted on 19 March 2018 by admin

Congress Rajya Sabha MP Rajni Patil was jamming in the Central Hall when she was informed that Sonia Gandhi wanted to see her. Rajni felt as if it was her lottery to the Rajya Sabha. She quickly rushed to Sonia’s office in the Parliament. She was in such a hurry that she even left behind her purse in the Central Hall itself.
When Rajni entered Sonia’s office, Sonia was about to leave for her home. Seeing Rajni, Sonia said, “Let’s go home. We can talk on the way, and have tea at home.”
Rajni then hopped into Sonia’s car and reached 10 Janpath. The discussions on the way were nothing major but just general political issues. When Rajni was preparing to take a leave after the tea, Sonia asked, “Where will you go from here?” Rajni told that she would first head to the Parliament House, since she left her purse in the Central Hall due to all the haste. From there, she will take a Parliamentary bus to go to the house, which costs only Rs 20/-. Sonia found it very nice that even today there are MPs who keep it simple.
Then Sonia put her hand in her purse where only Rs 120/- were present. She handed that amount to Rajni and Rajni kept it securely with her as a prised possession.
