Bait Season Is Here

With the tables taking turns the every other day ahead of the 2019 polls, the center-seated BJP is no less in going with the flow of the changing winds. It has something or the other in its kitty to woo each section of the society.
One such bait is the 10 per cent quota for the economically weaker of the general category, which is already out in the open. Next on the target are youth, farmers and women voters.
To lure the unemployed youth, Universal Basic Income is ready to pop open.
For farmers, Direct Benefit Transfer has been revamped under which, during the Rabi and Khraif seasons, government aid will be directly transferred to the farmers’ bank accounts with which they can cash in the seeds and the fertilisers. Mind you a similar scheme is already operative in Telangana where Rs 4000/- are transferred to the farmers’ accounts twice in a year. As of the crop failures, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana is already in place.
The women’s reservation bill is being prepped for introduction in this Budget session for roping in the women voters. The income tax slab may also be altered in the very session.
To cheer the traders and merchants, GST has been tailored to demand many a times which will be effective from April 2019.
