AAP-Congress Delhi Alliance

June 18 2018

The resounding Jayapur poll victory has given a massive moral boost to Rahul Gandhi-led Congress and it seems that the party high command is now very much keener on putting up joint fronts with other parties. Of the two Rajya Sabha seats coming up at the hustings in Kerala, Congress has a clear sway over at least one, but this seat too it has decided to give up to ally Mani-Congress party. Likewise in Delhi too, the Congress is within kissing distance of the Aam Admi Party and plans to give BJP a drubbing here as well. Ajay Maken is in regular touch with AAP boss Arvind Kejriwal through his former protégé and now AAP leader Ashish Talwar. It is learnt that presently Make’s sole focus his seat and that of party leader Sandip Dixit. But as usual there are party poopers. Jai Prakash Agarwal and Subhash Chopra has made a strong bid in this race, and they claim that the Congress can win on its own in Delhi and does not need an ally; and if at all AAP is taken on board, it has to remain a junior partner, putting the budding alliance into some difficulty.
