The Mystery Of The Black Box

Posted on 14 May 2019 by admin

Remember the black box, and all the political fuss around it, that was found in Modi’s helicopter during his election campaigns? The IAS officer who investigated it was also suspended out of the blue. The mystery of the black box continued to haunt many. However, that mystery has been solved. The black box in fact contained a teleprompter which was always delivered to the venue prior to the PM’s speech. You may already know that a teleprompter is a display device that prompts the person speaking with an electronic visual text of a speech or script. Earlier, when Modi had to speak in his public meetings, he used to resort to teleprompter, but now there is a new trend in these elections.

Venugopal’s Foot In The Mouth

Posted on 14 May 2019 by admin

There is a big question mark over the continuation of KK Venugopal as the Attorney General after the new government formation at the Centre. Actually, Venugopal has expressed many such opinions which did not line with the views of the government. Recently on the matter of sexual assault charges against the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Venugopal has opined, ‘The matter should be investigated by retired judges, especially women judges. Then there will be credibility.’ When the statement swirled a storm, he clarified the views were personal and had nothing to do with the government. Earlier too Venugopal’s differences with the government were noted when on the Rafale row he had told the court that the Rafale papers have been stolen. It seems as though Venugopal’s words are giving the Modi government nightmares.

As much as this Union minister is counted among the most honest leaders, equally is he the apple of RSS’s eyes. He is also in-charge of the PM’s parliamentary seat Varanasi. In the recent days he has come to the limelight for a 5-star sort of hotel in Varanasi’s Maldahiya. Sources tell that the hotel’s ownership lies with the minister only. The hotel piloted last month amid the general election fever. Although it is far off from Ganga, the minister holds press conferences to tell of the achievements of the government. The journos are given extravaganza treatment. It is said if the saffron flag hoists once again at the Centre, this hotel will become the number one in Varanasi.

Posted on 14 May 2019 by admin

The opposition parties have once again drawn the nation’s attention towards EVMs. RTI activist Manoranjan Rai sought information about the number of total EVMs across the country. The EVM producer Bharat Electronics Limited put the figure at 1 crore 22 lakh EVMs. Interestingly, the Election Commission claims that it has only one crore EVMs. Now the remaining 22 lakh EVMs have become a matter of concern. The opposition parties are prepping to create fuzz about the same.

The Gandhian Pact

Posted on 14 May 2019 by admin

It is said there is an undeclared pact in the Gandhi family that despite where politics takes any member of the family, they will never go against the family. Cousins Rahul and Varun have always abide by that. This time when Priyanka Gandhi reached Sultanpur to campaign for Congress candidate Sanjay Singh, many questions did the round whether she will speak up against her aunt Maneka Gandhi. A journalist, in fact, directly asked her if she is here to campaign against her aunt. Trying her best to maintain the posture, Priyanka replied that she is not here to target any specific person, but is campaigning against the BJP. Although Priyanka’s reply was politically correct, it was no rocket science to read what was on her mind at the moment.

Divide & Rule!

Posted on 14 May 2019 by admin

The maximum obstacles on the BJP’s way to majority are in UP. While the SP-BSP and Ajit Singh coalition is stressing the saffron party out and various opinion polls are claiming that the BJP may lose as many as 40-50 seats this time, the Yogi government has found a new way to dent the SP-BSP friendship. If sources are to be believed, whenever a Dalit is being harassed by someone from the Yadav community, the government is taking up the matter seriously and putting the latter in jail by taking action under the SC/ST Act. This way the SP supporters may feel while they are supporting the BSP, the pro Dalit party is still holding old grudges and landing our people in the jails for that. Well, divide and rule has been a thing since the age of the British.

KCR On Media Lookout

Posted on 14 May 2019 by admin

Telangana CM and TRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao is emerging a black horse of politics. He too, influenced by Modi, has learnt the art of using the local media for his benefit. For this he is not only spending a lot of money on them but also putting his foot down when need be. A few days back KCR found out that a regional channel is thrashing his government’s policies, and praising his opponent Chandrababu Naidu. He immediately got onto knowing the reason behind it. He then found out that the head of the channel belongs to the Kamma community and is at close terms with Chandrababu. KCR straight away spoke with the owners of the channel and ensured that person was shown the door. KCR is maintaining good terms with both Modi and the Congress and will only reveal his cards when the time is right.

Saffron Rise In Bengal

Posted on 14 May 2019 by admin

BJP has high hopes this time with Bengal. While party president Amit Shah is bullish 20-21 seats, the analysts are placing BJP on only 6-8 seats. But, anyhow, an unprecedented up in the vote share of the saffron party is highly likely in the region. In the recently concluded Panchayat elections, TMC’s vote share was around 40 per cent and the BJP’s 19 per cent.
This time in Bengal, CPM and Congress have been pushed to the fences whilst BJP and TMC are dueling with each other. But this bipolar fight may give an edge to TMC in terms of number of seats, if not in terms of vote share (may climb up to 44 per cent). At the same time, BJP’s vote share can increase from 13 per cent to 30 per cent, but this won’t reflect much difference in terms of seats.

Modi, The Media Man

Posted on 14 May 2019 by admin

Sensing the changing tides, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought changes in his campaigning style. Otherwise, during the 2014 general elections, Modi reserved media interaction until the very last phase. However, this time this process started way earlier. This time the PM has come up front with a changed attitude. Immediately after concluding his speeches, he is even giving bites to a select fews.

All Eyes On The Future!

Posted on 14 May 2019 by admin

In the election season of 2019, the Congress did not want to give the Election Commission any chance to say that it did not receive any complaints this time. So the party is sending notices to the Commission for every littlest of things. A few days back the Congress noticed the Commission about the PMO. As per Congress, the PMO had e-mailed the District Magistrates of three districts, seeking details of the regions – from history, culture to the caste equation. These were the three districts where the PM was to hold rallies. However, despite all the homework, the PM is bound to commit mistakes, for instance in one of his speeches he told Guru Nanak, Kabir and Baba Gorakhnath beseated together. Anyhow, Modi doesn’t bother himself much with history. He is all eyes to the future.
