Tough Fight Faces Sinha In Ghazipur

Posted on 29 April 2019 by admin

Sangh and Modi’s pet Manoj Sinha was one of the few ministers of the Modi government who worked day-in-day-out for their constituencies. Sinha’s opponents to agree that the plethora of schemes that he showered on Ghazipur for its development and the amount of funds he was able to get allocated from the State and Central governments to implement the schemes, were never done by any previous MPs.
But, oh the irony! Despite all that he is still standing a weaker candidate in front of an opponent like Afzal Ansari. Mukhtar Ansari’s brother Afzal is a candidate of the Grand Alliance here and as per the caste equation, he emerges stronger contender.
Ghazipur was once known as the stronghold of the Bhumihars, the caste Sinha belongs to. But post the new delimitation, a huge chunk of Bhumihars has gone to Ballia parliamentary constituency. It is said as many as 2.5 Bhumihar voters have gone to Ballia. Bhumihar-dominant areas like Reotipur, Sevpur, Jamania and Mohammadabad are all now a part of Ballia.
It is said that Ghazipur now remains with only 75,000 Bhumihar votes. The constituency has converted into a Yadav-dominant area where SP enjoys a new stronghold. Om Prakash Rajbhar’s anger towards BJP is also costing Sinha heavily, as here over 1.5 lakh voters are Rajbhar who are breaking away from BJP.
Post his exit from BJP, Ramakant Yadav wanted to contest on the Congress ticket from here. But the Congress instead sent him to Bhadohi. Had Ramakant been contesting from here, at least a bifurcation of the Yadav votebank was possible. All in all Sinha is faced with the toughest fight till date.

This Time It’s Personal!

Posted on 29 April 2019 by admin

Although a miffed Dalit leader Udit Raj has exit the BJP and joined hands with the Congress but tough times are here to stay because the saffron party ditched him at a time when there are next to none electoral prospects left.
Udit himself claims that he had called Modi at least thrice but he did not speak to him. He was instead told to meet Ram Lal. It is said that when Udit met Ram Lal, the latter told him that only party president, i.e. Amit Shah, is authorised to distribute tickets.
After this, Udit started dialing Shah, tried reaching him at his residence, but Shah was nowhere to be reached. So a troubled Udit dialed Nitin Gadkari who straight away told him that he is not getting a ticket this time.
On the other hand, BJP Delhi president Manoj Tiwari kept assuring till the end that he will get a ticket. Finally Udit approached Arun Jaitley who disclosed that he has been denied ticket not on political grounds but for personal reasons.

Will Kanhaiya Trump?

Posted on 29 April 2019 by admin

The Begusari seat has become one of the hottest seat of the Lok Sabha elections 2019. JNU-fame Kanhaiya Kumar has made the triangular contest here even more interesting. Earlier Giriraj Singh was seen a little off the charts, but now the BJP too has come to full force.
Many activists, scholars, Bollywood celebrities are backing Kanhaiya Kumar. It is said that Kanhaiya supporters have been able to raise over Rs 70 lakh via crowd funding. Even NRIs are making contributions to the crowd fund.
The party unit here is in itself a matter of concern for BJP’s firebrand Giriraj Singh. Although the daughter-in-law of former BJP MP from Begusarai, Late Bhola Singh, lost the Bachhwada assembly seat, but her influence is still there on the local Bhumihars. Begusarai seat is considered as a stronghold of the Bhumihar caste. There are more than 4.5 lakh Bhumihars in the region and both BJP candidate Giriraj Singh an CPI candidate Kanhaiya belong to this caste.
The RJD coalition has fielded Tanvi Hassan from her.
While the BJP is busy proving Kanhaiya a traitor, the Kanhaiya supporters have put forth a new caste-card. According to sources, they have brought to play Kanhaiya’s Gautam clan from the Bhumihar caste. Kanhaiyya is already supported by youths and Muslim voters to a large extent. If he is able to bifurcate the Bhumihar voter-bank, it will become a tougher challenge for Giriraj and Hassan.
The influence of caste politics in Bihar can be understood with an old incident. Back in 1991, when Lalu was the master of Bihar politics, he brought Inder Kumar Gujral here to contest from Patna. When Lalu’s own supporters begun asking what is the caste of Gujral, the witty politician explained that Gujral should be seen as Gurjar of Punjab, i.e. Yadav. The supporters were then convinced.

Sunny Side Up

Posted on 29 April 2019 by admin

Arun Jaitley is said to have played a vital role in roping in Sunny Deol in the saffron camp. If sources are to be believed, many years ago Hema Malii approached the clever Jaitley seeking legal help for Sunny. The sources claim that Hema had told Jaitley of some property disputes ongoing amongst Sunny’s in-laws.
It is said that Jaitley then helped minimising Sunny’s troubles, leaving the latter indebted. So, when Jaitley offered Sunny to contest from Gurdaspur on BJP’s ticket, he could not refuse.

Shah Troubled By Bhagwat

Posted on 29 April 2019 by admin

RSS chief Mohan BHagwat’s statements often cost the BJP heavily. During the Bihar Assembly elections he put BJP in trouble by saying ‘it’s time to review the reservation system’. The statement’s bad impact on BJP reflected in the results of the Bihar Assembly polls.
Then again during the Four-State Assembly polls he brought up the Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi issue. The election results were once again poor for the BJP.
And now that the Lok Sabha elections fever has caught the nation, Bhagwat, while addressing the RSS volunteers in a meeting at Nagpur, said that ‘earlier the same government used to run the nation for 30-40 years. Now that they stay only for 5 years, there is no point counting on the government for anything. RSS volunteers should instead take the matters in their own hands.
The latest statement of the RSS chief has definitely increased the troubles for BJP president Amit Shah.

Manish Tiwari’s All-Out Effort

Posted on 29 April 2019 by admin

Long-time Congressman Manish Tiwari had to make an all-out effort to grab a party ticket for the Lok Sabha elections 2019. According to sources, Tiwari’s first choice was Chandigarh, but veteran Congressi Pawan Bansal already has a strong hold of the party unit here.
Tiwari had his eyes on Chandigarh for years now. He even gathered a small team of few trusted ones but he failed against politics master Bansal. It is said Bansal very cleverly showed the way out to those people.
Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh is at close terms with Tiwari, so he identified a new seat for him – Anandpur Sahib. But Rahul Gandhi wanted him to contest from Sangrur, which was not acceptable for Captain.
Then Tiwari approached Sam Pitroda for him to convince Rahul. Venugopal, who is said to be real close to Rahul and is the one who brought him to Wayanad, too spoke to the Congress president. Tiwari and Venugopal, both, began as student politicians and have remained friends since.
When nothing worked, Tiwari approached Sonia Gandhi with high hopes. But Sonia, instead of speaking to Rahul directly, asked former PM Manmohan Singh for the task with the warning that ‘we need Manish in Parliament’.
Meanwhile, a meeting of the party’s election committee took place where Venugopal presented the dossier of Anandpur Sahib infront of Rahul. State Congress chief Sunil Jakhar, who too was seeking a tickt from Anandpur Sahib, had played an important role in the preparation of the dossier. In this dossier, Jakhar allegedly had it written that 65 per cent of the seats in this constituency were Sikh voters, while in fact it was the figure of Hindu voters. Rahul sensd the notion and, although delayed, but Tiwari’s name got a go ahead by Rahul from here.

The Unease Of Silence

Posted on 29 April 2019 by admin

The three phases of the Lok Sabha elections have already concluded but no clear picture is able to emerge. The voters too have sealed their lips and giving no hints whatsoever. BJP and Congress are conducting exit polls with the agencies of their choices – not one but many. Yet, no clear picture is to be found.
The remaining phases are Hindi belt-based where BJP has to maintain its influence at any cost and so they are putting in all their strength and wealth. RSS too is encouraging its workers for door-to-door campaigns. Modi’s mega rally ahead of his nomination was one such effort. Even the share market trends are fluctuating. The up trends are filling BJP with joy while the downwards are giving Opposition hopes.
Elections are to be held in UP, MP and Rajasthan where the BJP has a lot on stakes. So, positive statements are being put in the mouths of political pundits like Rakesh Jhunjhunwala. They are ‘predicting’ the return of the Modi government.

How Much A Hindu Is Priyanka

Posted on 08 April 2019 by admin

Controversy found a new home when Priyanka Gandhi Vadra visited the famous Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi to offer her prayers. On one hand, many Hindu organisations are demanding a proof of her being a Hindu. On the other, Congress is advocating against such questions.
Congress claims that a Delhi’s Sitaram Bazar-based Kashmiri Pandit, who is an old acquaintance of the Gandhi family, had performed the ceremonies for Priyanka’s marriage to Robert Vadra. The marriage was performed as per Kashmiri Hindu customs. Priyanka wore the traditional customary ear ornament ‘Deji-Hor’. Rahul was made to wear a ‘janeu’ (a sacred thread in Hindu religion) while giving away his sister in the ‘vidaai’, which was again in accordance with Kashmiri Hindu rituals. The ‘pandit’ who performed the ceremonies was also gifted a Kashmiri shawl by the Gandhi family.
So these Congressese close to the Gandhi family are confident that Rahul and Priyanka don’t need to present any proves of their Hinduism.

A Little Birdie Told…

Posted on 08 April 2019 by admin

The storm that erupted with the finalisation of Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad as the saffron party candidate from Patna Sahib, is not ready to settle down. Despite the intervention of the BJP high-command, Team RK Sinha is not ready to keep its anger aside.
It is said that Team RK Sinha claims that when if the party were to deny Shatrughan Sinha a ticket from Patna Sahib, RK Sinha’s son Rituraj Sinha was supposed to be brought on-board.
But being the master of politics that he is, Ravi Shankar Prasad had his birds coo that there is some relation between RK Sinha and Shatrughan Sinha, and that the latter’s wife Poonam Sinha and daughter Sonakshi Sinha are frequent guests at the former’s Dehradun-situated school.
