No Face Value in TN

Posted on 25 February 2019 by admin

Probably in a first of its kind, Tamil Nadu is gearing up for such a state assembly election where faces no more hold any value. After the demise of highly popular Jayalalithaa and Karunanidhi, no face has been able to attain such prominence. Karunanidhi’s son Stalin is popular with party workers but his popularity is nowhere near his father’s in the public.
So, all small-big parties are prepping to play the caste-card instead. In the BJP-AIADMK alliance, PMK has snatched away 7 seats after increasing its demands – earlier it was to be given only 3 seats.
If sources are to be believed, BJP is betting on Brahmin vote-bank of the state. The party is also eyeing the Hindu Nadars. AIADMK is receiving a lot of support of the Thevar from western regions. PMK has a good influence over northern region, a good hold on the Vanniyar vote bank. Dinakaran too has an influence over the Thevar caste, and has a long list of supporters in Madurai. PMK enjoys a prominent face in Ramadoss.
All in all, the Tamil Nadu politics has gotten real interesting.

RS for Scindia?

Posted on 25 February 2019 by admin

Prior to the crucial Lok Sabha polls, a big news is coming from Madhya Pradesh. Highly placed sources linked with the Congress claim that Jyotiraditya Scindia’s wife Priyadarshini Raje Scindia can be fielded from Guna, Madhya Pradesh.
Rahul wants Jyotiraditya to dedicate his maximum time to the party and upcoming elections; possibly there is a vacancy probability for Scindia in the Rajya Sabha.
Ever since Scindia has been appointed the western UP in-charge of the party, alongside general secretary Priyanka Gandhi, his stature in the Congress took a new height.
Apparently to put a full stop to the cold war between Jyotiraditya Scindia and Kamal Nath, Rahul brought Scindia from MP to UP. Cuckoos coo that every other day Scindia would reach out to Rahul with his complaint box against Kamal Nath that the latter is not paying any heed to his people in the state. Scindia and Nath also drew swords over new appointments in the state unit. So bringing Scindia to UP was a big step taken by Rahul.

Gehlot vs Pilot

Posted on 25 February 2019 by admin

In an other Congress-ruled state, Rajasthan, all is not well between the CM and Deputy CM (Ashoka Gehlot and Sachin Pilot). This tiff is clearly visible in the ticket distribution for the Lok Sabha polls. Pilot supporters are constantly accusing the other side of neglecting them in the seats distribution in Rajasthan.
As learnt through the grapevines, a few days back Pilot invited the various contenders of his camp at his place for a meal. It is said a strategy has been planned that first sharpen your claims on the seats and then only Rahul Gandhi will be involved in the matter. And if that too doesn’t work, then show of strength will follow.

Mamata’s New Tollywood Army

Posted on 25 February 2019 by admin

Churning Tollywood stars power for political profits is an art one should learn from Mamata Banerjee. In the past few elections, they have been her master stroke. They were fielded in large numbers and many of them won and started making a name in politics in Kolkata and Delhi.
Bengali films Superstar Dev has this time expressed his unwillingness to contest the polls. He did win the previous election with ease but living up to the expectation of the people as an MP was no easy task for him.
Now this comes at a time when the BJP is gearing up to contest the elections with many Tollywood stars by its side. So, Didi too has decided to place her bet on many new faces.
Of the many names on Mamata’s fresh list, Bengali beauty Nusrat Jahan is said to be one of them. Nusrat is also said to be close to Didi’s MP-nephew Abhishek Banerjee. Apart from Nusrat, Mamata may also bet on June Malia and Soham Chakraborty. Indrani Haldar’s name is also a topic of discussion.
Sources close to TMC tell that Mamata has almost made her mind to contest Nusrat and June.
On the other hand, while Trinamool Youth Congress vice president Soham Chakraborty bombed in the 2016 Lok Sabha polls when he contested from Bankura, this time he will be fielded from the parliamentary seat of Deepak Adhikari aka Dev.

Anything & Everything for ‘Mahagathbandhan’

Posted on 25 February 2019 by admin

Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu is running stem to stern to set sail the Oppositions unity aka ‘Mahagathbandhan’. The time and energy he had devoted to Narendra Modi before the 2014 General Elections, he is now channeling the same to Rahul Ganhi for the 2019 polls. In this regard, Naidu has entrusted Rahul with the responsibility of giving a face to the Opposition unity through ‘Common Minimum Programme’, given the latter is the president of the largest Opposition party Congress.
Sources tell that Naidu has met with Rahul for the same and clarified that under the Common Minimum Programme, he should give upmost priority to two issues: farming-agriculture and unemployment.
To make the final call over all of it, Naidu is set to fly-in to Delhi once again on February 26. For this, even the Congress has postponed its working committee’s meet. The CWC meeting was earlier scheduled for February 26 in Gujarat, but now it will take place on 28th instead.
The most interesting part of it all is Mamata Banerjee too is set to fly-in to Delhi to boost up the Oppositions unity, and is expected to take part in Naidu-Rahul’s meeting.
Traditionally, Congress sends Ghulam Nabi Azad as its representative to such Oppositions meet, but given the changing scenario Rahul himself attend the meeting. The changing scenario was the very reason Rahul had accepted the invite to Sharad Pawar-hosted dinner, and the very reason why he didn’t mind sharing the stage with Kejriwal, too.
It is quite evident that Rahul has emerged in a new avatar and is also mastering the art of politics.

Friends in Delhi, Foes in Andhra

Posted on 25 February 2019 by admin

Whilst bearing the flag of Oppositions unity, Chandrababu Naidu is well aware that his friendship with Rahul in Delhi won’t bear any fruits in Andhra. It is now clear that these common enemies of Modi will come face to face in Andhra Pradesh.
During the recent 5 states assembly polls Chandrababu had promised Rahul that TDP and Congress will form alliance in Andhra Pradesh. For this, Naidu had even proposed a plan too in which he proposed to give 25 seats in the Assembly polls, while 4 in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
But the twist in the tale came when Telangana Congress president Uttam Reddy met with Rahul and succeeded in convincing him that the party crashed in Telangana due to its alliance with TDP. He warned what if the same happens in Andhra too because people are unhappy with Chandrababu.
After Uttam’s warning, Rahul conducted a pan-state survey to get the mood of the people. The results proved there is a severe anti-incumbency against Chandrababu in the state.
Well, with no further delay, Rahul told Chandrababu that the two parties are better off contesting on their own in Andhra Pradesh.

Investigation Agencies Target These 3

Posted on 18 February 2019 by admin

Three high profile personalities are on the Modi government’s radar, whom the government wants to land in jails before the 2019 polls. The first name on this list is of Gandhi family’s son-in-law Robert Vadra. Sources tell that Vadra has been grilled many a times and his documents have been thoroughly scanned and searched. The entire build up has been done, only the climax remains.
The second name is of Kolkata Police Commissioner, who is said to be at cordial terms with Mamata Banerjee. According to the sources, the investigating agencies are confident that the red diary and pen drive, which apparently document the entire Saradha and Rose Valley chit fund scams, have yet not been destroyed by Kumar and that he has kept them hidden somewhere. Its recovery may mean that Mamata too would suffer.
The third and most important name is of former CBI director Alok Verma who had created troubles for the Modi government with his courage and boldness.

In Search Of Venkaiah’s Replacement

Posted on 18 February 2019 by admin

South Indian states are giving headaches to BJP. Party president Amit Shah is the sole leader who is braving to communicate with the leaders and population of the states with his Gujarati-mixed-Hindi.
The BJP is actually is searching for a leader who can bridge communication with regional parties like DMK, AIADMK, TDP, TRS and JD(S). Earlier the party had Venkaiah Naidu doing the job, but ever since he has become the vice president of the nation, he is unable to carry the BJP agenda that openly. In the recent past, when Venkaiah met with DMK chief Stalin, it made headlines in many Tamil newspapers. Even though, it was Stalin who had come to meet Venkaiah at a hotel in Chennai.
If sources are to be believed, Naidu himself has been given the responsibility to find a suitable South Indian leader and prep him to fulfill the party’s motive.
