Janta Funding!

Posted on 24 September 2018 by admin

The opposition parties are sparing no chance of accusing the ruling BJP of massing huge funds, and it quite true that the party’s coffers have been brimming over in the past few years. The corporate and other moneybags have opened their purse strings for the party. However, the bees in Ashok Road garden say that the party has set out such a massive budget for the 2019 polls, that what it has is still not enough! This is why the PM’s Namo app has been tweaked to make it possible for the party to request donations from the public. The denominations can range from Rs 5 to Rs 1,000. There was a time when the veteran Haryana politico Devilal had coined the slogan of ‘One note, one vote’. And since Monday, Namo’s app has gone into working mode.

Hemant Snubs Rajat

Posted on 24 September 2018 by admin

Hemant Sharma of India TV fame is once again in the news. His latest book, ‘Ayodhya at War’ was released by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat recently at Ambedkar Institute. The hall was choking with eminent people, who included Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Union minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, SP stalwart Prof Ram Gopal Yadav and even senior Congress leader, Janardan Dwivedi. Bhagwat embarrassed Sharma saying he never knew the latter since he never read Jansatta. He said he has come to release the book because it deals with Ayodhya. What was almost shocking was that Rajat Sharma, owner of India TV, from which Hemant Sharma was unceremoniously shown the door, was also present. Describing BJP president as his ‘inseparable friend’, Hemant Sharma declared that by himself, he could never have written the book; it is some unseen force that made him do it, and that too, because of Rajat Sharma. The sarcasm was direct and hard hitting and very soon Rajat made his exit. In the second row could be seen Vinod Kapdi and Ajit Anjum, who Hemant has roped in to ensure that his channel becomes number 1.

The Shivpal Impasse

Posted on 24 September 2018 by admin

SP veteran Shivpal Yadav’s rebellion has been simmering for quite some time, so a major meet was organised at the house of SP boss Mulayam Singh Yadav. Present was the entire clan, including Akhilesh. By the time Prof Ram Gopal entered, the emotions had boiled over. The formula to placate Shivpal was that he would be made the party general secretary. The entire family, including the professor, had agreed to this, but Akhilesh put his foot down. Interestingly, just ahead of the meeting, political Machiavelli Amar Singh had organised a meeting between Shivpal and BJP chief Amit Shah, and it was decided that Shivpal would join the BJP, and also get some of the other clan members, and the scuttlebutt was the Aparna Yadav, daughter in law and Tej Pratap, disgruntled grandson of Mulayam could be deserting the Yadav camp. It is said that the chartered flight was ‘engines on the tarmac in Lucknow airport, when Shivpal suddenly refused to play ball, which has become a major embarrassment for Singh.

Bhagwat’s New Bhagwa

Posted on 24 September 2018 by admin

The RSS stunned people with its immaculate events management during the three-day gala show at New Delhi’s premier venue, Vigyan Bhavan. Whenever Chief Mohan Bhagwat entered the hall, almost 90 per cent of the attendees would stand up to show him respect. Vande Mataram would be played loudly. Some unpleasant questions also came up. In fact, these were questions that Bhagwat himself wanted to take up. Most opposition leaders had been invited, including Rahul Gandhi. However, barring JDU’s KC Tyagi, these leaders were conspicuously absent. Bhagwat attempted to clear the air about the Sangh’s outlook on the Muslim community, saying without Muslims, there would be no Hindutva. This was a change over from the traditional ideology by Guru Golwalkar, who looked upon and described Communists, Christians and Muslim as India’s ‘internal enemies’. The three day event brought fresh hopes in the Sangh, which now feels that even the opponents wish to hear and understand it. And now it is possible that a few more such events will be organised in the coming days.

TRS Slipping?

Posted on 24 September 2018 by admin

The track has become rather slipper for the ruling TRS in Telangana. Despite the announcement of the new state in the last election, TRS could get only three seats more than the majority, so this time around, if the Congress, Left and Telugu Desam join hands, the TRS could be facing a drubbing. It is being said that the Congress is ready to let go of 39 out of the 119 seats for the other parties. In fact, the Congress is trying to work out a Grand Alliance in the state along with CPI, CPIM, TDP and other parties.

Apex Bank’s Urjit Tanks

Posted on 24 September 2018 by admin

The Modi government is worried sick that no positive news regarding the state of the economy, especially banking, is reaching the people. There is a lot of noise that there has been as much as 322 per cent increase in NPAs after Modi took over. The Reserve Bank is trying its level best to argue for the government, issuing statements every month explaining things. Last week too, a lecture series was organised in Noida. The Central Vigilance Commission had written to all top bank leaders that they must attend these lectures. But there were hardly a few of the senior officers of the CBI and other agencies involved in investigating the banking scam. The CVC, it is learnt, is drawing up a list of such officials who stayed away from RBI Governor Urjit Patel’s speech, and possibly they will face some scorching earfuls.

Bol Bam! Bol

Posted on 24 September 2018 by admin

Ever since Rahul Gandhi has returned from his Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage, the number of Shiva devotees is peaking. Recently at Rahul’s rally in Rajasthan, the devotees’ passionate slogan, “Bol Bam” was heard loudly. The slogan was so loud that it has reached Assam, where state finance minister Hemanta Biswa Sarma is going to organise a Shiva yajna. The target of the yajna is world peace and development of Assam. It is heard that some 500 top Shiva bhakts are being brought in by train from South India.

Nitish’s Secret Rendezvous

Posted on 24 September 2018 by admin

This is perhaps for the first time that Bihar CM Nitish Kumar visited New Delhi, but stayed neither in Bihar Bhavan in Chanakyapuri, nor in his personal house in Dwarka. Executing clear caution, he chose to stay in his government residence at 6, Kamraj Lane. A source close to Nitish tells us that this time around, he wanted to keep his visit under wraps. Staying at Bihar Bhavan would be inviting a crowd of visitors. But despite such secrecy, his meeting with BJP president Amit Shah got leaked in the media. Is it a mere coincidence that just when Nitish was in Delhi, the LJP MP Pashupati Paras was also in Delhi on some special mission? It is now known that Paras had a serious meeting with Nitish during which the bitterness between JDU and LJP over seat sharing also got resolved. But LJP’s fight with BJP is still on. The BJP wants to exchange seats with LJP and JDU to ensure that their candidates contest from their original seats from where they have won in the past. BJP says that while Ram Vilas Paswan’s seat Hajipur, his son Chirag Paswan’s seat Jamui and Ram Vilas’ younger brother Paras’ seat Samastipur intact, BJP wants to exchange three other seats: Munger, Khagaria and Vaishali. Birds are chirping that central minister Upendra Kushwaha is all set to bid goodbye to the BJP-JDU alliance. He is keeping silent till the poll results of Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh are out. The decision, he has taken, now all that remains is the declaration.

PM Vision

Posted on 24 September 2018 by admin

Though Nitish was on a political mission in the capital, his friends warned him that he is aging and the body cannot be neglected. Thus it is that after 12 long years, Nitish got a full body checkup done in AIIMS. The scan included TMT, echo and right up to all sorts of blood tests. Nitish was buoyant with the results, barring just a small problem in his eyes. He consulted his friend and top eye specialist Dr Rajvardhan Azad, and was told that his eyes were suffering from dryness, so some drops have been prescribed. So now Nitish has a clear vision of the PM’s seat in 2019.

Gadkari, Yogi… No Modi!

Posted on 18 September 2018 by admin

The blue-eyed boy of the RSS, Nitin Gadkari usually has the approach of a balanced politician, but when shove comes to push, and the push gets rough, he too bares his fangs. Nagpuri birds and bees hum that it was decided long ago that Gadkari would be visiting Chicago along with RSS boss Mohan Bhagwat, and share the dais with the latter. Gadkari had made painstaking preps for his Chicago visit, and had also lined up dozens of important of meetings with Indian corporates in the US, but at the last moment, Nagpur decided that he was better off on this side of the Atlantic. The RSS thinking was clear: it did not want to openly send out the message that whenever the Sangh will be in a crisis, Gadkari will be there as the answer. This internecine war – and Gadkari’s clout – became clear when an ad from the UP government recently showed the beaming faces of CM Yogi Adityanath and Gadkari, sans the face of PM Modi which is supposed to grace every single ad of the BJP, whether by the union government or central and state BJP units.
