Trouble with Love

Posted on 27 August 2018 by admin

The old politico in South India who has recently become a CM is in trouble over his philandering and has been in the news lately. In spite of being married to his first wife, he went ahead and married a southern film siren who is half his age. And the couple even has a child. But then, sources reveal that just before the assembly elections, this second wife fell out with him and returned to her maternal home. But lust knows no bound for the sexagenarian and he got involved with a rising actress of just 22 years of age. Such was the raging relationship that the CM even bought her a plush bungalow in the heart of the town for Rs 16 crore and spent most of nights there. Scuttlebutt is that his first wife got to know of this and one night she landed up quietly and caught the couple in the middle of their amour. The first one was so enraged that she beat up the third black and blue. CM sahib somehow managed to tide the storm by telling her that she was the true queen of his heart, and such pretty ones will come and go. In the meanwhile, his second wife too landed up in the capital city to stay there. She now meets a dozen or so business tycoons daily and sends their project proposals to the CM. The old man apparently is pushing her envelopes as well.

Sharad’s Ire

Posted on 27 August 2018 by admin

A few days ago, Sharad Yadav put in his bit for the Opposition Alliance by organizing a heritage programme in New Delhi, where Congress president Rahul Gandhi and CPIM’s Sitaram Yechury too were present. The programme, however, was lackluster and many seats were vacant. That is when Rahul whispered to Yechury sitting next to him, saying if this is how it goes, then what about the Grand Alliance? There was no SP or BSP, nor the DMK nor Jagan Reddy. It was a matter of the same few faces. Yechury too nodded in agreement. But the conversation also fell in the ears of Yadav’s confidant, Rajya Sabha MP Ali Anwar, who was sitting just behind Rahul and Yechury, and he promptly informed his boss. Sharad was enflamed and he started hollering at Rahul, saying: “You are unhappy about chairs going empty. So let me talk to the BJP. They have called me up four times. It is only in the interest of the opposition unity that I am still holding back, or else I would have left long ago.” Somehow, Rahul tackled the elder leader and calmed him down, or else the fracas might have become much worse.

Saffron weakening in Chhattisgarh

Posted on 27 August 2018 by admin

The saffron party is facing a bleak future in Chhattisgarh in the coming state assembly polls. In the last elections, the gap in the votes polled by the Congress and the BJP was just 0.7 per cent. Rahul Gandhi seems that not only will the Congress increase this share, but also successfully weed out negatives of the Jogi factor. Of the Congress’ vote share in the state, a big majority, say 65 per cent, comes from Adivasis and Tribals, especially the Satnami community. On the other hand, of the BJP’s vote bank a majority are forward castes and Other Backward Castes. To break up BJP’s OBC lout, the Congress is depending on leaders like Tamradhwaj Sahu and Chandan Yadav. PL Punia has been tasked to keep the Dalit bank intact. And efforts are on the placate the party pooper Ajit Jogi. That is because he is still aligned with the BJP and has a good clout over the Satnamis. The seriousness of the situation can be guessed from the fact that once Amit Shah found time after the immersion of Atalji’s ashes, he has stayed put in capital Raipur. He is working directly with 15,000 booth-level workers to strengthen the party’s chances.

Lalu’s Woes

Posted on 27 August 2018 by admin

Political magician Lalu Prasad is of late seen upset on many fronts. First, his health is not giving him a respite. Besides, the strife within the family is raging. Third, the CBI has framed him, wife Rabri and son Tejashwi in the IRCTC fund embezzlement case. Barely had he succeeded in patching up sons Tej Pratap and Tejashwi when his daughter Rohini Acharya’s nascent political aspirations has again put the family in trouble. Lalu and Rabri had apparently decided that Rohini would contest the parliamentary polls from Pataliputra seat, and Rabri would contest from Saran. When younger son Tejashwi got wind of this, he was enraged and went and told Lalu that BJP would take advantage of this very fact, as “Lalu’s family rule”. He said: “We brothers are MLAs; sister Misa is a Rajya Sabha MP; mom will contest from Saran, so why do you bring in Rohini into politics?” Lalu reportedly calmed down Tejashwi, his favourite son and said to be his political successor. He told the son that both Pataliputra and Saran have been the family’s seats and explained why they must remain with the family. But will his Chanakya politics get into the head of the son, or will the latter still advocate the politics of changed times?

Posted on 27 August 2018 by admin

Bihar state Congress chief Shakti Singh Gohil is in fresh trouble. The Pajero from which Manisha Dayal, who ran the NGO involved in the infamous Muzaffarpur Girls’ Home Rape case, was caught, has been registered in the name of the brother of party MLA Amit Kumar Tunna. The Congress, worried that Gohil will get implicated in the case, is now contemplating ditching him and making Alpesh Thakor the state party president.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi is now ablaze. With his incisive criticism of Narendra Modi in a conference attended by representatives of 33 nations, he is all over the headlines. But Rahul is upset because he had thought that his statements would be made available as line feed to Indian news channels, but that did not happen. Reportedly, he had tasked party communication cell chief Pranab Jha with this and Jha had done his utmost, but failed. Now it remains to be seen who faces Rahul’s ire.

Lapse in VVIP security

Posted on 27 August 2018 by admin

With the immersion event of the last remains of Atal Bihari Vajpayee reaching Hardwar, party president Amit Shah, Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat, Ataji’s adopted daughter Namita Bhattacharya and granddaughter Niharika had all reached Har-ki-Pauri on the Ganga. There, even before stepping into the ghat, all of them had taken off their chappals. But when they came back, none of the shoes or chappals were in sight, and the security personnel too could not explain where they had vanished. So the VVIPs reached their cars walking bare feet over a burning road. And the blisters on their tender feet were giving a lie to the claims of high security in the state.

Maya Estranged?

Posted on 27 August 2018 by admin

The strongest leader of the Opposition Unity, Mayawati seems to be a changed lady these days, especially in her dealings with other opposition leaders. But sources reveal the real reason behind this. Apparently, some three weeks ago, the CBI had picked up one of her closest confidants. He was picked up from his home at around 11.30 am and rubbed up till almost midnight. The CBI reportedly showed him concrete evidence of Mayawati’s assets disproportionate to her known sources of income, and he was told that in the near future, life could be made very difficult for the Dalit leader. When the person said he would need the presence of the party’s legal head before he signs any papers, the sleuths apparently showed him the documents related to the plush Prithviraj Road bungalow which had been purchased for crores of rupees. The CBI told him that the paperwork to frame chargesheet and convict Behenji are ready and that the person involved in the Bungalow deal is ready to become an approver. Reports are that the CBI is rushing the case through and wants it to conclude before December. Grapevine is that just after this, one of Mayawati’s right-hand persons met a senior BJP minister who is these days the blue-eyed boy of party boss Amit Shah. The minister sent out the clear missive: if you want to breathe easy, forget the Grand Coalition, and especially in UP, you can have an alliance with any party other than the Congress.

Akhilesh Perplexed

Posted on 27 August 2018 by admin

Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav too is a bit perplexed with the changed face of Mayawati. Sources close to Akhilesh say that in the past one month, he had spoken over the phone to Behenji as many as four times, and the talks were cordial and fruitful, and yet, she does not seem to find any time to meet Akhilesh. It is known that not long ago, Akhilesh and Mayawati had jointly decided to select one district in the state to hold a massive joint public rally to gather some 5-6 lakh people to make a grand entrée into the 2019 elections. But now in this changed attitude of Behenji, Akhilesh does not know what to do. His plan to ride the ‘elephant’ seems to have gone awry.

Dilli Dur Ast?

Posted on 21 August 2018 by admin

A recent survey by a local Hindi daily has stirred the hornet’s nest in Delhi, saying that the BJP could come a cropper in as many as five of the seven Lok Sabha seats in the 2019 general trials at the hustings. Only Ramesh Bidhuri and Pravesh Verma could retain their constituencies. This could be happy tidings for the Aam Aadmi Party, but it is suffering a famine of bankable (readable voteable) electoral faces. The names that have been cleared so far by AAP boss Arvind Kejriwal include Dilip Pandey from North East Delhi, Rahul Mehra from New Delhi, Rahul Chaddha from South Delhi and party treasurer Pankaj Gupta, who runs an IT company from Gurgaon. Scuttlebutt is that the names of Atishi Marlena and Gagan Singh are also in the reckoning. At the same time, a big section of the party still favours seat sharing with the Congress. The decision lies at the doors of Kejriwal, whose few past decisions have given the party some hard knocks!
