Munda Bigada Jaye

Posted on 25 September 2017 by admin

While on the one hand, Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das is busy in celebrations of completion of 1000 days of his government, on the other former Chief Minister of the state Arjun Munda is unable to overcome the grief emanating from being ignored by the party. A hurt Munda recently invited his supporter MLAs over dinner in Ranchi. Only 8 MLAs is turned up. Munda is learnt to have told them that the adverse conditions were prevailing and his patience was being tested by the party. Even his political existence was under threat and options were getting reduced with every passing day. He asked the legislators how many of them were ready to support him if he takes a drastic step soon. All of them raise their hands. After the dinner ended, the news reached Raghubar Das as well. He duly informed the party high command. That is why Munda who could not even speak to Amit Shah on Modi for last 3 years was summoned by Shah to Delhi. First Amit Shah and then Narendra Modi gave Munda patient earring. He was assured that first he will be inducted into the Rajya Sabha and then will be given a significant position in the party. Arjun Munda does not seem inclined to split the party anymore.

Vasundhara grounded

Posted on 25 September 2017 by admin

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia is in a dilemma over the course of her future politics. She is trying to understand the nuances of Delhi leaders. She is learnt to have met the Prime Minister a day before cabinet reshuffle and Modi talked to her about the probable candidates. One of them was Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore. Vasundhara had her own ideas about this guy whom she considers was a product of opportunistic politics. She had strong reservations about Rathore which she shared with Modi. Next day when the cabinet was reshuffled Rathore instead of being demoted, was rewarded by party high command. Vasundhara was left thinking that it would have been prudent had she kept her ideas to herself.

Rudy’s Pain

Posted on 25 September 2017 by admin

Nirmala Sitharaman has been rewarded for her silence and loyalty. In fact, she was among the first to be asked to resign from the Union Cabinet before the reshuffle. Soon the core team of Amit Shah tried to find out reactions of those who had been asked to put in their papers. Strongest reactions came from Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Phaggan Singh Kulaste. Rudy was not only agitated but he also fulminated a lot. He said if non-performance was the basis of his ouster from the Cabinet, why not was he allowed to clear his position. According to sources, he was seeking appointment to meet the Prime Minister one on one for past 8 months. But PMO did not spare any time. Even during appraisal of his ministry, the PMO used to call the secretary of the ministry and take his presentation. In such a situation when was minister’s accountability fixed? When was he allowed to convey his point of view? There is an inherent lesson in this episode – top leadership has always very short ears but has a very long nose.

Nirmala Escaped

Posted on 25 September 2017 by admin

Nirmala Sitharaman has been traversing the political distance quietly but with measured steps. As soon as she was asked to resign she reached the top leadership and with folded hands expressed her gratitude saying politely – “I am really grateful to you for having given me an opportunity to work with you. Being part of your cabinet was the proudest moment of my life. I will always remain thankful to you for this”. Then she rushed to party chief Amit Shah and repeated more or less similar lines. She also told Shah that she was ready to work in the organisation and she did not need any post for this. And if there was no work for her in the party she would like to go back to her village and spend some quality time with her husband.”
That sealed the deal in her favour. The top leadership always want such humble volunteers who are always committed to the leadership without even a trace of arrogance.

In a New Avtar

Posted on 25 September 2017 by admin

Rahul Gandhi is a changed man ever since his stepped foot in the USA. He has regained his lost confidence and also a new insight. Ruling party is going to get some measure of the new Rahul in coming days. The first example may be seen in appointments of chairpersons of standing committees of Rajya Sabha. For example, BJP wants To handover chairmanship of law and Justice panel to its new ally AIADMK instead of its rightful owner, the Congress. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anant Kumar has spoken in vain about this to the leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad. Now Anand Kumar wants to speak to Sonia Gandhi and Rahul but so far has not received any positive indications from any of the two. Rahul wants to instil a fighting spirit in the Congress. But before that, he will have to take up politics as a full-time profession.

Chidambaram’s ‘letter bomb’

Posted on 25 September 2017 by admin

Former Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram is on the target Modi government. Investigative agencies are tightening the noose around his son Karthi Chidambaram. During his reign in power, he had always been vociferous against the BJP. But this time when his son is likely to be put behind the bars, Chidambaram sought an appointment with Sonia and Rahul. He was worried about lack of support from both the Congress and its leaders. He tried to speak to Sonia on phone but she did not take his call. PC even tried to meet Rahul Gandhi 3 days before Rahul left for America but in vain. This infuriated Chidambaram so much that he sent a very strongly worded epistle to the Congress President which said, ‘if my son goes to jail it would not be good for anybody neither you, the party and nor the Gandhi family.’
Chidambaram wrote that as a Minister whatever he did was on the directives of Gandhi Family. But he can not abandon his son when latter is in trouble. There was a clear sound of rebellion in the letter. But before the rebellion could take shape Chidambaram was summoned by 10 Janpath. He was told that he is a very senior leader of the party and such language does not behove him. This was followed by some emotional exchanges. The result was evident the next day when entire Congress Party came forward to differ PC and Karthi both. The party convened a special press conference for the purpose.

Uddhav exposed

Posted on 25 September 2017 by admin

After being politically marginalised by Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, the Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray recently remembered his rebel cousin Raj Thackeray. Incidentally, Raj too is not having a good time of late and he is becoming irrelevant in Maharashtra politics. The tragic part is that Raj’s son is suffering from an incurable disease. This gave an opportunity to Uddhav to visit Raj’s son in the hospital. The brothers forgot their differences and reportedly chatted for a long time. Uddhav asked Raj to return to Shiv Sena’s fold and he could get the number two position in the party. Raj seemed amenable to the idea. After a few days, Uddhav sent two seniors of the party to Raj for the final round of negotiations. The leaders are reported to have put certain conditions before Raj after which he lost his cool. The first condition was that Raj will not get any position in the party or the government for three years after his return to Shiv Sena. Secondly, he could not get any position or tickets for his supporters in any election during this period. Raj told the two leaders that this was not acceptable to him as Shiv Sena simply wants to use his support base but was not ready to give him anything in return. The emissaries have passed on Raj’s message to Uddhav. Now the ball is in his Court. If Uddhav wants to take the move forward he will have to take at least two steps forward.

Flying Pilot

Posted on 18 September 2017 by admin

Rajasthan Congress chief Sachin Pilot’s name too was there in the list of party leaders like Milind Deora and Shashi Tharoor accompanying Rahul Gandhi to US. But, he backed out at the last moment citing urgent business back home. When Rahul himself spoke to Sachin, latter told him about the impending Lok Sabha by-election for Ajmer which fell vacant due to Sanwar Mal Jat’s death. Besides, farmers’ agitation too is going on in Sikar and Shekhawati areas. He also told Rahul that he had already activated all his contacts in the US and passed them on to Rahul’s core team. Rahul jokingly told Sachin, “No doubt you are doing a good job. But, don’t forget that path to Rajasthan passes through Delhi only’.

Inside Story

Posted on 18 September 2017 by admin

BJP’s top leadership is not happy with Bihar’s deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi. Source confide that BJP chief Amit Shah was not in favour of Modi being included in the cabinet this time. Sushil Modi learning of Shah’s mood, dialed his contacts in the RSS. The RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat is believed to have mediated in the dispute and got a favourable decision for Sushil. This infuriated Shah so that that he offered to resign from party chief’s post and indicated that he was ready to join the government. He was eyeing Home Ministry for he has already been in charge of Home in Gujarat. Rajnath was offered Defence Ministry. Unwilling to move from Home, Rajnath too rushed to Mohan Bhagwat. He told Bhagwat, changing his Ministry at this juncture, would be construed as due to his poor performance. If he had to be removed, he would prefer to return to the party organization. Bhagwat intervened to save Rajnath’s skin. That is why, the meeting of four biggies at Rajnath’s home before the reshuffle, was a stormy affair.

Bihar Heading to Polls

Posted on 18 September 2017 by admin

JD(U) and BJP relations aren’t as warm as before. BJP this time is an equal partner in the government. Nitish has been consulting BJP in every major decision taken by him. Otherwise, he used to simply inform them after taking a crucial decision. Sushil Modi too has reduced himself to being Nitish’s lackey. But, tide has turned this time. Amit Shah doesn’t trust Sushil Modi any more. He feels Sushil has been preferring his interests over party’s. That is why most of decisions are being taken at BJP’s central headquarter in Delhi. Amit Shah convened a meeting of party’s Bihar core committee and instructed them in no uncertain terms that they don’t have to soften towards Nitish. Shah is also working on conducting Assembly elections there before schedule. Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan are supposed to go to polls in October-November next year. BJP wants to have Lok Sabha and Bihar Assembly polls too with these state polls. If it doesn’t seem possible then even these state polls may be deferred to coincide with Lok Sabha elections.
