B is for Brahmin in BJP

In the recent past, the influence of Brahmin leaders in BJP has consistently increased and Gadkari’s new team seems to set a new example in Brahminism. In the party’s biggest decision making body or the Parliamentary Board, six of the 12 members are Brahmins. Kindly pay attention to the names – Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Nitin Gadkari, Murli Manohar Joshi, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley and Bal Apte. Thawar Chand Gehlot is the lone Dalit face, Rajnath Singh represents the Thakurs, Ramlal is a Vaishya, Venkaiah Naidu is a Kamma. Advani is a Sindhi but he too could be considered half Brahmin. It is surprising that there is only one woman in BJP’s Parliamentary Board and there is no representation of the backward castes in it. So in this new
scenario, BJP should be rechristened the Brahmin Janta Party.
